picked up a new laptop after graduating(been using same laptop since i went to college and it was struggling, to say the least) HP dv7-1285dx Core 2 Duo Mobile 2.4ghz NVIDIA Geforece 9600 GT, 512 dedicated 6g ram Vista Home Premium 64bit Razer Lachesis Mouse that's about all that's worth mentioning, it does the job, and some.

I always say that hehe. My rig is decent. Runs anything at high with no compromise on performance. Asus mb duo @ 3 ghz 8800gt 4gb ram liquid cooled w/win xp I have a new 9600gt in storage, but imo the 8800gt is better.

Haha that's what I was thinking. Guy started the thread just so he could brag about his new computer. Nice rig though, but I think most of the newest hardware is overkill for video games (with the exception of vid cards). My PC is far from new, but with a new GTX 260 OC, it runs every game I play with FPS to spare. Anyway, there is a Tech forum for these sorts of discussions.

You can get Macs that can game, yes... you just pay a lot more for them (often in the 100%-150% more range, sadly).
until macbook's fix their mouse acceleration driver issues, then they aren't much for gaming imo. that i have to hack my mac to even get proper mouse feel thats still sluggish in an mmo when i visit the family is just weak. otherwise, prices aren't that different for games, but macs have been sliding down in usefulness as MS copies more and more of OSX
