I guess I'm just strange, as I have lots of hardware I'd rate 4/5 of 5 but I wouldn't recommend it to friends without needing it for a specific application. Are the batteries not L/Ion? My MxAir (while obviously not pushed as hard as your mamba) can hold a charge for 2+ days from a 1hr docking session.

The Mamba comes with a square shaped 800 mAh rechargeable battery like the ones that come on wireless telephones.

most rechargeable batterys are 2000-2700 mAh so I can see why the battery lasts for such a small amount of time (usually a day if you dont recharge the mouse). Some of the Logitech mice say that they have a bettery life of a month or two though so I dont see why the Razer has such a short battery life.

its been a while, so im not sure, but iirc. rechargeable batteries are worn down with constant use, the flow in, and flow out degrades the cell, the greater the amount of charge stored, the greater the wear on the battery. as such, the cell's life may be greatly extended buy having it store as little charge as possible, and lets be honest, the thing doesnt need to last any longer than it does, then back on the charger while you sleep. (keep in mind, i could be wrong about this... trying to recall something i learned years ago XD)

you can see a similar example in regular batteries, duracell rechargeables do not last nearly as long as a duracell ultra, because the excessive charge would wear them down. also, one must consider the size restraints... Razer needs to fit a battery in there, and while ive never taken it apart.... it feels pretty full.

lastly, the logitech mice, or atleased the one wireless ive ever used from them, use regular batteries, and do last a helluva long time, but keep in mind that regular batteries do not need to worry about their reuseable life span, and that those mice, unlike the mamba, do not have a gaming-grade laser or trasmitter, both of which i would bet use more power than similar devices on more generic 'mobile' wireless mice.

    my 2c anyway

well, if the charge lasts 3 days and you charge it nightly, i'd be more affraid of charge memory... and the temperature change caused by your hand with heavy use would decrease charge time as well.

I got the keyboard today, this thing is very very nice :D. It has a palm rest, lots of multimedia buttons and looks very sexy as well, great combo with my Mamba. It will take some getting used to the way that the keys are laid out on the keyboard though as they have different heights and their laid out like a wave across the keyboard. I also miss my little volume wheel from my Logitech G11, this keyboard has a button with up/down instead of a wheel for volume.

I'd look at crate and barrel they sell some pretty nice tv trays that are designed for large amounts of food that work quite nicely for gaming.
