I have programmed before and I know I would need an API to get some of the information from the website. I have a test vbulletin set up on my website to test it.

Well, you don't necessarily need an API but html parsing would be messy. :/

I think messy is a extreme understatement.

Try it out, unless you use a API to do this, I bet it wont work. HTML parsing is a b*tch, especially since you cannot control the exact conditions of what you are parsing (member options etc).

Doing a bit of googling, it seems there are modules that create a vBulletin API (and apparently there is a official one but I cant find it). For the community ones, it seems like you have to install a forum module first though (as I thought), to enable it.

  3. mmmm I would so do that. I hate loading the mobile version of the forums, and I hate trying to load the actual forum. So if there was an app to do it in a nice concise way on my HTC Hero (Android) that would be bad ass!

    I would definitely use that.

  4. I really only read the OP, but if you're looking for a platform to focus on, I'd go with Andriod. From the last market report I saw, Android phones are averaging 160k worldwide activations a day.

The EVO is selling like crazy, and with FroYo or however they spell it all the older phones just got that much better.

Froyo is just the codename for the version.

    Cupcake > Donut > Eclair > Froyo > G???

    1.5 > 1.6 > 2.0 > 2.1 > 2.???

  6. I wish I had a smartphone too =(

I would love to see that kind of app on my android phone :)

Actually Eclair is for 2.0 and 2.1 (maybe because 2.1 was released just 1 month after -_-') Froyo is 2.2 and Gingerbread 3.0
