Oh god, please don't ever mention the disasters of Batman Forever (or should that be Never Again) and the even worse followup, which was the only film that I ever walked out on. I have no idea how they're going to followup on the Joker after this. Anyone else would just seem wrong.
I doubt they need to make any more batman movies with the joker, however i would like to see jim carry come back as the riddler, i think he did a badass part in whichever one it was that he played it in...
as a side note I saw the DVD of animations that support The Dark Knight (Batman: Gotham Knight): avoid at all costs. they wanted it to be similar to the DVD of animations that supported The Matrix (THE ANIMATRIX), which were extremely well written, animated and acted, but Batman:Gotham Knight completely missed those marks. i couldn't wait for the DVD to end and I loves me some anime. the voice acting is that from the animated television show...which were well done and familiar. the stories were ok, and some of the animation was striking, but all in all bringing all the elements together felt strained and clunky. personally i blame the directors/animators for producing such a shoddy product from such rich potential.
As it should. What stands out for me with the Christopher Nolan movies is that....Wait for it...IT'S BATMAN! Batman isn't supposed to be some schoolgirl romp through the park. It's supposed to be dark, sinister and evil. Batman himself isn't a hero. He's an obsessed Anti-Hero who does good for Gotham City out of rage...Not necessarily "Because it's a nice thing to do". Nolan saw what Batman really is. And I commend him for it endlessly. As for Jim Carrey as The Riddler...Yes please!
Apparently the director of the last 2 movies is not going to be bringing back anymore of the old characters. I will see if I can find that info again, but that's what I have heard.
Hmmm... that means that the door is only open then for Clockwork King, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc.... Clayface... any others I'm forgetting? -KM
I hope that isn't true Cox. I was actually hoping to see a some fat dude in a suit at the end of The Dark Knight to set up the next one. I was a little disappointed.
I'm just hoping they don't fuck up casting the joker for future movies. Heath can't be replaced. EDIT: Needed moar Robin.
It was simply amazing. It sucks that Ledger did such a stupendous job and then is no more. I could've seen sequels down the road with the joker coming back, but without Ledger it just wouldn't work. All the parts were played really well, but it just seemed to me that Ledger was the Joker, no ifs ands or buts.
PLEASE NO! I don't want to see Boy Wonderpants in any of these movies unless they actually make him decent, and not some over feminine flamboyant metrosexual.
Pretty sure Christopher Nolan has been quoted saying something to the effect of, "As long as I am directing Batman, Robin will have no part in the story." To which I offer a resounding AMEN.
