I'm reading this 120- page guide on SC and I can't find it but I read a part that says if you're a criminal, there's a criminal insurance company. (Based out of 0Sec space?)

Holy shit, Dag. That's freaking genius.

What if we tried this as a side-business. People pay us for "insurance" on ships that they stole then, when they get blown up and come to us we hand them another stolen ship. We're bound to be able to steal ships pseudo-legitimately in the course of doing military contracts. We just give it to them for higher than market price.

I had a thought. What if I let my ship float in space, waiting for someone to steal it. When they board my ship, I kill them, or capture them for bounty, and steal their ship...

It should be possible but it depends on a lot of things. If you are alone and a caterpillar finds you that could turn into a 1v15 situation. If the pirate is stupid enough not to have numbers on his side when trying to board your ship then you should definitely steal it lol!

I think it works like stealing ships as a pirate in Pirates of the Burning Sea. U could not insure the stolen ships.

Now if u get a mafia insurance like dag mentionned it can be fun. It's like the PK cities in UO. Another parralel market.

But I'm thinking they will be coming in single file, considering the size of my Avenger.

I guess it depends how bad they want whatever is in your avenger. I believe it has been stated that they would be coming in one at a time and you would have enough warning to set up your defenses (they have to cut a hole in your ship I think).

I definitely think it would be possible for you to take over their ship theoretically but I guess it depends on how the final mechanics of it work as to how difficult it would be.

I dont think it will be possible to take any fighter that is pretty much a cockpit only.

yeah unless the pilot ejects from the ship and leaves it there ... boarding action is well doubtful for a single or 2 seater ... it needs a true hull in which you can move around in IMO

Just float in space, then when people start boarding, just call in allies to ambush the boarders.

Because of this 'game sharding' you may have to wait quite some time for any boarders.

Unlikely. The instancing is proximity based, not time. If someone is close to you, they're in the same shard as you, period.

I'm hoping the Avenger gets a docking port since it is considered one of the "bounty hunting" ships.

Yea. It's one of those "No one has a clue" things.

I mean if I'm out bounty hunting in my cutty and leave my ship to go get them out of theirs someone can just fly up and take my ship lol.

I was reading the article on sharding and it said there were many factors as to whether or not you would be in another player's shard.

The majority of which are proximity related. Additionally, most of the other factors aren't used when in low/null sec space.
