Just wondering; since it is called Phenom II why wouldn't you think it is on the standard AM3 Phenom II slot??

    Socket AM3 PGA-941

Release date is 4/27, US Pricing is around $320 thus far (for the processor not the mobo).

Edit: Asus is saying the Crosshair III Formula is AMD Phenom II X6 ready

    $199.99 at Newegg

Double Edit: All of their AM3 mobo's have passed 6x certification. You can look them up and price them out on your own if you'd like. LIST

Keep in mind too this is a Black Edition so it will be unlocked.

Edit: This is 3.2ghz out of the box so you won't need to OC it for a long time to come unless you just want to see how hard you can push it.

1090T has been proven to hold stable at 3.6ghz in turbo mode. Slap a Noctua on that bad boy and you'll probably be able to push well beyond that.

If you don't know what a noctua is btw, it's the greatest cpu cooler on the market and the fact that it's a heat sync that puts rad coolers to shame is quite impressive.

    Link to Noctua

Hm, this would be good for cheap servers, I think. $200 for a 6-core with presumably at least comparable power to Intel's $1000 chip ... yeah.
