http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1841108,00.html People are always going to try to evolve the human mind and war will always be at the forefront of the motivation for it. It's just human nature. War, wealth and women xP
I'm not so sure about that. I think survival and self preservation will reign supreme when it comes to technological advancements looking ahead. That and just pure curiosity. In fact I think we are closer to a war-less society than many even imagine. Sure, as of right now we are still caught up in warfare but thats only because we are worried about what the people on the other side of the planet will do. War is a result of misunderstanding, and miscommunication. Today we are connected through the internet and the amount of participants is growing exponentially just like technology is. Think of the internet as a collection of brains to form one big brain. The internet is going to allow us as a species to come together and have universal goals. Miscommunication and misunderstanding is gradually becoming a thing of the past. As more and more people become educated and more and more people gain access to the internet we as a species become more and more similar to each other. Or rather those similarities that have always been there become more and more apparent. The idea that earth and all of its human inhabitants working together as a single community is just around the corner. (IMO)
We are close to a warless society because we have enough food on our table. Places that don't, still fight wars. There are many wars going on right now, just not on the scale of WWII. However, if a future disaster strikes the planet, and diminishes resources crucial to survival of entire nations, then major wars like WWI and WWII will return. Look to global warming and depletion of energy reserves as factors which can bring about another major war. War will never be eliminated until we have seemingly infinite resources.
Touche, very true. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ng-soon-Lab-grown-meat-needed-feed-world.html They successfully made all sorts of meat products in lab settings. Just need it to be efficient enough so that its worth making it instead of farming animals.
