That is sweet news. I can put aside my plans of getting a PS3 for a while longer :)

The fixed camera versions scared me sideways.

True, the fixed cameras were cool but scary...meh. RE1 was the best experience though.

Meh, I need something to play hi-def movies, and a PS3 is the most cost-effective way of achieving that. Plus I get a mediocre gaming system as a bonus.

Dude are you fucking serious? The power that PS3's cell technology has given game designers is amazing. If your so into gaming you should know that the PS3 beats the 360 hands down. It might not have the software but it definitly has the better hardware and set up.

I never claimed the 360 was so superior either. The PC completely dominates the consoles in terms of technology. It's not even a fucking contest.

But regarding the PS3 vs. the 360 in terms of technology...The 360 is like a PC. It's got a normal 3-core processor, much like a Dual-Core or Quad-Core processor in a PC. It's got an ATi graphics card, and half a gig of DDR3 RAM. It's a PC with a dedicated on board operating system. The PS3 has some convoluted cell processor which prior to the system no developer had ever seen. The graphics card, which shares a lot with the GeForce 7800 is completely custom as well.

What I'm getting at, is that PC hardware (which the 360 has) has been around for years. Developers are used to it, and are able to code games to appease to that technology. However the PS3 has all this brand new custom shit that just confuses and frustrated developers. Is the PS3 more powerful that the 360? Of course it is. But if developers cannot code for it, that power is it's weakness. SCE shot for the moon, and hit Pluto. They went too big this generation and they are paying the price. Developers that had once been exclusive with Sony have and still are jumping to the 360 (See: Square Enix) because of not only the lack of PS3 hardware sales but because of the convoluted development process. Making a game for the 360 is like making a game for a shitty PC. But you virtually need a course in Playstation 3 Development 101 to make games for it. The Playstation 3 is a powerful machine. But it could be the most powerful fucking thing in the world...without the knowledge of development, it's worthless. And unfortunately for Sony (and the people who own a PS3), that is the case. The thing is hard to code to.

And lets keep in mind...The 360 and the PS3 are gaming consoles. It doesn't matter what system is more powerful than the other...Without the games they are just expensive paperweights.

Alright I see where your comming from now. I completely agree the PC beats them hands down. I just cant wait to see what they can do with Cell. If you watch the PS3 game lineup video youll see some developers talking about how that now they understand it better the potential for the console is big.

It's always amusing when people get so passionate about their little consoles.

Holding steadfast to one piece of technology because you think it's superior is stupid.

Yes, I just called many people in this thread stupid.

It's because people don't like knowing they made a bad decision.

My first console was a used PS, which I bought after everyone had one and it was cheap as dirt, then after awhile I sold it on Ebay and bought a used PS2 with the money I made + a little extra.

You can probably guess what I bought these for, yes that's right Final fantasy. My friend's older brother (I guess he was about 10 years older) had Final Fantasy 7 and I played a little of it and fell in love. Any who, I got both my systems cheap and definitely played their worth out of them with games like FF, Monster Hunter (tight game I never heard of until I spotted it in a store), God of War I/II, and various other games. I would say I don't really care which system is better because I had my fun and don't plan on buying anymore. I can just leach off of friends from now on. Hurray for friends!!
