Oil spill to eclipse Exxon Valdez

    I dont think the gov't should be involved with this issue, it should be the states and people that have been effected that should pressure the business to clean it up while offering incentives to people that help out with the clean up, as well as incentives for the state. (aka cheaper gas for X amount of years, ect).

    that is just so frightening. i saw this book in the lib. gonna go try and get it soon. what could that mean for the gulf? or the ocean??

    anybody know why they cant do something like this? i know they have something thats catching a minimal amount of oil right now, but srsly... why cant they hook a hose up to the thing? is it just too much pressure coming out?

    The end of the pipe is damaged for previous failures at closing it ...
    And they know now that it leaks into the ground before that, weakening the seafloor and hence inducing tilt in the pipe, menacing of collapse.
