Well there is always David Eddings he was a fantastic writer don't know if the audio books are any good though. Mercedes Lackey is another one of my favorite fantasy writers but I tend to like her Valdemar stuff more then the other stuff. (A little warning though she does tend to have a few gay people and parings here and there and while its not a prominent part of her books they are there and some people find it a little uncomfortable. She has gotten bashed for it before by a few critics so I thought I would mention it but I don't even remember any kissing strait or gay let alone any depictions of sex so why I don't know) Also did you try the Dresden files? Its pretty much fantasy but set in present day. I don't know really know any of the newer fantasy I don't read a lot of fantasy any more. I did start reading Adrian Tchaikovsky's Shadows of the Apt series it's got an interesting powers system don't think its been made in to audio books though. I'm more in to military sci-fi/adventure these days if you want anything from that genre I can list about 100 writers for you :drool:
