I did not open the door because your a Lady. I opened it because I'm a gentleman. - Doctorie my reply to a woman who was very rude at my holding a door open for her.
"You can wonder around within the sanctioned playpen of ordinary consciousness and we have some intoxicants over here if you want to mess yourself up. We got some scotch here, tobacco, red meat, some sugar, and TV. But, these boundary dissolving hallucinogens that give you a sense of unity with your fellow man and nature are somehow forbidden. This is an outrage, its a sign of cultural immaturity and the fact that we tolerate it is a sign that we are living in a society as oppressed as any society in the past." - Terence McKenna I love listening to this dude.
never had this happen in my life until I moved north to Ohio. my fist day here, this "person" yelled at me for holding a door open at a Target. Blew my mind. Fist, I got yelled at for doing something I had been conditioned for a quarter of a century to do, and second- why did Target have doors that required opening? I hate Ohio. Back on topic: "Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting one in a fruit salad." Go wikipedia it, gosh.

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." - Steven Weinberg
