Yeah, but you have to sheath at the right moment.

The game's very technical and has a steep learning curve. I've been playing for almost 2 months now and im still learning. Once you start getting the hang of things and getting nice weapons/gear, it opens up. Especially once you slay that monster that kept kicking your ass lol.

I rolled with the overpowered Dual swords, I farm like hell for mega juices and it's just pure carnage =] So it's always fast paced for me unless I'm doing the Akantor or the fatalis.

You slow down to walking a few steps forward as you sheath (assuming that you're moving at all). However, with the greatsword you move incredibly slow with the weapon out anyways. It's all about knowing WHEN to sheath your weapon!
He just finished an attack and is still recovering his balance
Hit him with an overhead Unsheathing attack!
As he turns, roll through its legs and then once more to put some distance between you.
As it either attacks in the other direction, or turns to face you, sheath your weapon.

Also! You cannot forget that the Greatsword can block! A huge advantage to go along with you're huge damage potential.
