    Ive tried this hobby actually... only to discover I was no good. I dont see it as a threat. If someone wanted to steal something they would just break the lock.

    2) No, it isn't. If I was under the impression that a bike of mine was to be stolen, it would not be in a position to be in the first place.
     
  3. But those same guys who can crack the bike lock in 20 seconds can also crack the lock on your front door just as fast if not faster. It's simply too easy to abuse this skill.

    Then they will make a better lock to counter the thief, not that breaking and entering is in the same field as bike theft at all, the same as GTA isn't committed to the same degree as bike theft... it's simply a much bigger scale and more intimidating to try. If a criminal walks by a bike every day and knows when its there, when its not, and when people walk that street then they will be in a better position to steal it where as a house (especially an apartment) is much much more difficult to monitor and break into and as such works different psychologically.
