If you complete most side quests in every zones, by the time you reach the end of the first zone (different color on the map), you will think you have a lot of cash then spend it all in a few vendors. The same will happen until you reach the end of the 3rd zone, by then you shouldn't have any money problems. I have about 2.5 mil right now but I did complete easily 90% + of the sidequests and I am level 37 near the end of the 4th zone. I also sell everything I find, including all the white gear and epics that are not the best. I keep 1 version of each epic weapons and all the set gear.
I'm going out on a limb here and saying I like this more than Skyrim. It's a bold claim but I can't put this game down, I'm obsessed with maxing my chars gear with blacksmithing. The story is whatever though, I skip most of the dialogue lol. (I doubt its actually better than Skyrim in actuality but I'm just having more fun with it.)
I enjoyed it a bit more than Skyrim as well. Both are great games. The story is about the same as Skyrim, at least the main story. Some of the faction quest lines are great. I just finished the game at around 75 hours, level 40, 205-210 quests completed.
I would also agree... I liked Skyrim and put a lot of time into it, but the combat and environment of this game are just so much more engaging for me. I have put 22 hours in to it so far. I am doing the House of Valor stuff right now at level 31.
I too am having a lot of fun in this game, about the same as Skyrim for me. Here is my lvl 40 build: http://amalurfoundry.com/calculator...000000000000000000&30063665505503055030555500 I use the Sorcerer destiny because of the extra damage, spell cost reduction, and extra mana regen. If you tend to get hit a lot then you could switch to Paragon so as to have higher defense and use it as a way to quickly regenerate your mana. It allows me to get back some health and do extra damage if I am about to die and cant get a health potion off in time, also when I stun an enemy I do a huge amount more damage. And since my chain lightning and quake can stun I can do some high damage against just about every enemy. I mostly like using the lightning attack against a boss enemy because it does stun them as well, letting you hammer away it it like crazy for those few seconds. Quake is a good cheap AOE skill to use against regular mobs, meteor for high damage AOE if your in a tight spot or getting aggro'd by a few powerful mobs like during a boss fight. You can also use the tempest AOE ability if you want more damage than Quake, but dont want to do overkill and waste a bunch of mana like when using meteor. Sphere of Retribution can do damage to enemies up close that get in some hit, as well as help protect you. And some of the Might abilities give you additional health and resistance and let you block better if you ever have to. Primary weapon is Chakram's, because they attack pretty fast, are ranged, and can do very high damage when you get some high high elemental. Especially ones that do lots of burning damage in a 3 second period. Since you have fire upgrades that burning damage is doubled. A really good combo is using quake to do some damage and stun some enemies, then throwing a charged chakram AOE attack that goes in a big circle around you. That attack already does huge damage but then the 60% extra on the stunned enemies is pretty much a "1 hit" kill.
Damn, I'm 20 hours in and im lvl 19 I think. I spend so much time on crafting and maxing my gear its like an addiction lol. I did all the side quests as well though too.
Damn.. Does anyone have a saved game around lvl 20? Would it even work? I had to reformat because I bought new pieces for my comp and now my external HD isn't working which had my saved games. I was completly done with the first zone and all its quests and just moving on to the other zones.
Yeah im just gunna start over, I'll get to where I was a lot faster then I thought since I know what to do and all that.
Love this game, just got the strat guide this week and realized I been playing so dumb lol. Respecc'd my character and now I hit way harder, Alchemy rocks and makes the fights so much easier.
I hear a lot of good stuff about this game, may give it a try when I am done with the list of crap I have to do and Rift is more off the ground.
