I toyed around with the demo, but I was less than impressed. The camera is... awful. A lot of the time I was attacking enemies out of blind faith just hoping I would hit something; it is in desperate need of the ability to zoom out. It seems like it's trying to be both Fable and Dragon Age, but falls short on both accounts. I dunno. It's very rough around the edges. I'm only keeping it installed for the spiffy ME3 unlocks.
You know that this demo build was before the final build that we will see once the game is released. So there was alot of restrictions and they already kinda talked about this and the reason the demo lacked alot... like int he customizations and cam control I think if I read the post correctly would allow a bit more freedom. Again tho this demo build was an earlier build where alot of bugs and issues was in game. From the reviews iv read and the other E3 demos or the actual game my uncle played him and his team said it blows Fable out of the water and is a very fun game to get lost in. From what I played and seen it allows more freedom then Fable and did alot correctly unlike Fable. I love Fable alot but just seems they didnt really listen tot he player base and just cover crap with more crap. Never played DA but tried the demo and didnt enjoy it or and thought the game play was meh
It was developed for consoles. Despite that though, when playing, the game looks quite good. There's an issue with drawing distance [it's way too short; makes NPCs "pop in"] but I'm hoping the months that've passed since this demo build was carved out of the game have resolved it.
combat feels nice, but camera definatly is an issue, had to put the slider down totally, and still it was a little to fast to my liking, i like the combo/battlecasting system though, needs a lil work here and there, graphic wise it looks very nice, for this type of fantasy rpg...
Yeah played the demo, and I lost interest right away, couldn't even bother to play it all the way through. The camera was too tight and the graphics where pretty bad.
Played it through + timer. Really enjoyed it, the fantasy world is interested and styled. The combat is enjoyable once you get a few unlocks in it.
Graphics =/= art style One is stated as a fact, the other one is simply an opinion. In other words the Art Style was not for you. But the graphics are not bad.
PC or Xbox 360? If PC, did you change the video settings? Not sure what to say here... anyone else played the demo and would consider the graphics "bad"?
Yup. The graphics are a touch better than Dungeon Defenders except its not an indie game and they arent really trying to be cartoony and ironically mediocre. It looks like it came out 4 years ago.
I really enjoyed the demo, I just can't figure out why. The graphics are nothing special, but the story got me. It helps that I know it was written by none other than R.A. Salvatore. It's his friggin' world! It will definitely be purchased.
The story is pretty good. My comment on the graphics by no means says I dislike the game I play dwarf fortress for crying out loud.
The "cartoon" look is on purpose. Here is a video that explains the art style. Like one of them said and I paraphrase.
What jagged edges, like when you don't turn on graphics to maximum aka lack of antialiasing and anisotropy?
Tried the demo on both the 360 and PS3 because the graphics had so many poorly rendered edges. Both seemed to lack any AA whatsoever. But sure, show me the option to up my graphics on a console bro.
