I meant his saying that 'japanese put more emphasis into thinking and strategy, rather than hand eye coordination and quick reflexes.', as I really can't find game examples to confirm such a position.

This is pretty much correct if you think about it. Ir you remember FFXI, most of the HNM fights revolved around positioning and range. FFXIV is expanding on that with it's weapons and abilities. You have to actually think and use strategy about where you want to go/do.

I.e The lancer's weapon can hit multiple enemies, at double the range of a standard melee weapon. So you can sit back a few feet out of an enemies reach and attack, or move in closer. Multiple abilities are AOE, both beneficial for the party and deadly against the enemy.

All in all, I love it.

Does XoO have plans on supporting this game? There have been zero talks about picking this up but for some reason there is a huge following for Star Wars which isn't releasing for another year.

Yes the benchmark gave my computer a measly 300. I think FFXIV will prevent many people from playing because it is too much to handle for the majority of computers. Anyway I've been hearing talks that the benchmark is not optimized so that could explain the low score (I just bought my computer 4~ months ago!).

@FFXIV: I think it will be a very successful PvE mmorpg with strong basis on community. I'll be interested in playing in its upcoming betas but so far I've not gained access.

I ran the benchmark and cried because my score was disgusting. I'm buying a new PC earlier than I thought I would be, for this and Brink.

I think I could make one or two changes to my machine and get a really decent score... which is amusing to me considering before this benchmark thing I had zero interest in this game at all. :p
