No company judges the words of a loud minority of anonymous posters as a majority of their target audience, especially while their forum feedback is so high... though not as high as their sales numbers. I also wouldn't call a handful of reviewers who admittedly only leveled to 5 or 6 sharing your complaint as "everyone." Such as the guys who put together the PC gamer write-up for example, or Angry Joe. I also would venture a guess the GameSpot write-up has a similar flaw behind it, though the writer did play more than a small handful of hours in which I commend him on over the other two sources I just ragged on. My problems there is he also put that time into taking multiple factions to the level 6 range... whereas critiques coming from sources like those in the videos I linked above show a much more grounded experience spanning to at least level 15.

I'll give you examples of the specific complaints I was discussing and why they are bad complaints. The complaint about lack of quests scarcity was from a paid reviewer who only made it to level 6 on the Ebonheart Pack faction. At level 7 on that very faction, I had 10 side quests to get through. The complaint about lack of mobs was from the same paid reviewer. The same level 7 character that I played was venturing into sections of Morrowind covered in hostile spiders and more. It was a very condensed area of enemies and was a real shock to the system after having to take out the rare Convenient NPC here and there at the town just before. It is also an area the paid reviewer was fine in stating simply didn't exist.

And the DC faction zones were even better at handling these easy critiques at an earlier level, even on both my prior Nov/Dec, bug riddled play-throughs.

I don't think I've actually read a single review complaining about the questlines and story. As lazy as many of these reviewers have been, even they didn't have cause to complain in the early early experience. And It only gets better as leveling continues.

And I doubt you will see strong complaints really on lack of meaning and feel to questing in PvE from future reviewers either, because of what I said before. It is the draw behind the TES series. Skyrim combat was not amazing for a singleplayer game and it also really spread out enemies for you to fight. You didn't get the wall to wall action and busy feeling in Skyrim that you would have in actual action games that had minor exploration elements.... like Arkham Asylum or Borderlands 1/2 which also were out around that time. Skyrim was a game that put it's emphasis on exploration and story over the combat and action congestion. Meanwhile the combat controls and interaction was also boring. We can go back to Morrowind and it was even worse because it was never Bethesda's primary or even secondary goal to be leader in wall to wall action games with great combat controls. Still Morrowind had an amazing following because it was an amazing RPG. TES games are great at making you feel like you are there, even if the combat is floaty. Going into ESO with that mindset wouldn't be wrong.

There is quite amount of people whom feel this way about PvE. It's apparent reading though reddit, forums, ingame, etc...

I never said the game was shit, it just needs some improvement. Who cares about PvE anyway...? All the budget should be going into PvP! : D

Pre-order sales doesn't really mean anything other than people have an interest in a game.

    I never did...

Another 5 levels of the same bore would of sent me over the edge... I really hope RvR leveling is viable, or I probably won't be playing; unless someone levels my character for me... :*(

I was level 8 doing level 13 - 15 quests on AD, I can't speak for the other factions.

    I can't speak for EB!

I ran past so much content skipping mobs because there was so few. The only time I saw any real mob numbers was in dungeons or at quests points. The open world felt lacking, even for TES...

I don't understand what you mean, but maybe that's an EB thang! :p

Just what I've heard from people that have made it long past 15...

    lol, I doubt that!

Some of the best combat ever with this mod: Duel - Combat Realism, but at this point I think you're delusional when it comes to combat and PvE in TES. The combat in TES games had a good realistic feel for being an RPG game...

Now you're just trying to compare Apples and Oranges.

More delusional thoughts from fantasy Island...

Well no shit, and thank god Bethesda is making progress...

Which is great since TES is a fantasy based RPG... :/

Finally, something we can agree on...

    Too funny:

Edit: Okay, I need to type something...

That video is the prime example of why we (MMO players who wish dearly for challenging content out of the box) cannot have nice things. That is also a prime example of why press outlets suck for game impressions.

The joker playing is familiar with the blocking and interrupt mechanics but gets fucking destroyed by two normal mobs and then him and his lackey go on to say some nonsense about how there's issues with game balance.

    What?

I mean I'm okay with being unfamiliar with every specific mechanic in the game (like their confusion about Soul Shards and how to fill them, or the fact they didn't recognize they'd run into a world boss outside that lil' public instance) but if you're going to criticize something specifically you should at least know how it's suppose to work and be able to use it if it's functional. The hack job press has been doing in relation to this game is outstanding IMO.

That is also the definition of a loud minority. Those gathering on some community or chat channel to express some opinion they want/need expressed.

You can put even less stock in the normal trend of negative comments over positive comments when it comes to ratios. This is because it is well known psychologically that people are many times more likely to provide commentary on a product or service they are unhappy with. When happy, those who have that experience are likely to simply enjoy it.

Even the beta forums are a minority of expressed opinions from testers when compared to beta survey results, which can be grouped and given statistical information based on responses. They don't want, and likely don't read, feedback posted via the forums. Much less reddit. All these communities combined are a small fraction of beta participants.

That was my point. It isn't a good comparison with what is being attempted it the game. In terms of quests it is a slowplay, longterm-objective game like other TES games before it. You aren't supposed to enter every cave expecting to collect 30 bandit asses and turn in 10 minutes later. That is largely how many MMOs (as well as the other action games I listed) work though. While it might exist in some limited extent later, as some claim, the PvE certainly isn't based around it.

Waiting to see the obligatory rat killing quest though.

That was interesting haha. Good and unique use of the media beta footage allotment.

Words cannot express how disappointed I was to see that the Flame Atronachs gave a ground effect warning before they explode on death. You are supposed to learn that when it kills you!!!

MMOs, please stop with all the ground effect warnings ....please?
I really hope that goes away at a certain level. That would at least be reasonable... if it were a tutorial thing.

It's the majority... You're a prime example of the loud minority though.

Which is a bad analogy all together...

We can agree to disagree. Really no point in discussing this further as it's apparent are viewpoints won't change.

Had nothing left to say anyway. When the contention to my points is a simple nuh uh it kind of kills any hope of discourse.
