Diablo 3 - Imminent?

I think it will be good, I just don't think it will have that good ol'diablo feel.

 

I have a feeling they are taking too long to get it out that it won't meet my expectations. I think I will enjoy it and it will be polished but I also think there will be part of me that thinks, "It took you this long to put out this?"

I guess we'll see. I am looking forward to it still. I am looking forward more to GW2. My RL friends are more interested in D3 which is good to potentially game with them again.

Looking back to the beginning of this thread is kinda nostalgic. Must be one of the longest-running ones we've had. (Over three years since Diablo 3 was announced now. That's quite amazing really considering it's still not out.)

Not much longer now though. Did we want to start a division or has interest died down now?

 

I'm still very interested. I think max sixe of 4 (i think it's 4) in a game might limit guild play slighly.

 

As someone who recently played both Diablo 1&2, and was never part of the hype or "craze" when those games first came out. I am going to give you the most honest view I can, which is, those games are lackluster one click fest. Mind you, the loot system is excellent, and the game offered chances for long term character growth.

Diablo 3 is going to be excellent, and blow D1&2 out of the water. Why? Because it is going to be a great gear/loot system on top of interesting and skill encouraging gameplay.

 

Well does the game really call for a division? I mean what in the game would need you to have a leader, or what can you do that would warrant a front page post? Maybe just a section where we can post items we got and schedule some times to play with other guild members.

 

Is there any talk of being able to form guilds or alliances within the game?

 

Not that I have read. It's not really that type of game imo, but maybe with PVP there will be something.

Next year means D3 releases on 1/1/2012, mirite?

D3 will fall under Other Games/Unsupported. I for see 15+ people from XoO playing on most days. It should be fun playing with people in TS.

 

Fair enough. I would point out that there is PvP, but I do not know how it works or whether it'll really be any good. If it's a free-for-all it helps not at all (unless we had a duelling league, but eh... simply having gear differences in the game makes that suck); if it's teams we might be able to do something with it, maybe.

Of course, the problem with 2012: GW2 is probably releasing that calendar year as well...

 

For sucks sake, delayed till 2012. Blizzard are getting worse and worse these days.

This is really starting to annoy me now.

 

I know. but on one hand I play DDO and Turbine release bugs every month. It's also annoying. There is just no winning sometimes. I guess I would have been happy with a November release with a mostly poished game instead of next year with a fullly polished game. I am still hoping I can get in beta because the lack of D3 is killing me.

 

You know Ive been waiting for Starcraft Ghost for, shit I dont know how long now so a couple of extra months for D3 wont kill me. Damn SCG is going to be tight though!

 

Just the damn beta would do me fine. I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew what I was waiting for.
