I have not read up on it. Watched vids but - I hope the game is a decent length. Only so much Zombie free roam hacking one can do.
hahahahahahaha i figured someone would say something but i guess you saw it first ... was waiting on ronin or sokar to say summin or even worse TOMMY
The more I see and hear of the game the more I can just feel that it isn't going to go well. Personally... the visuals are... terrible. >_>
I didn't say pretty. Games should be easy on the eyes. I'm not exactly sure what about Dead Island puts me off, but it just seems really ugly.
Kinda looked jagged to me, but it was not on a HD stream. As long as gameplay is good, and graphics are somewhat "up to date" then that's fine with me. Look at Amnesia for instance.
Whos getting this game? Rumor is there is a XoO launch party tonight at midnight EST in TS3. All the cool kids will be there.
I should have got a group buy going for it. I just decided to buy it today and spent $50 on it. Ive been off and on as to whether to buy the game or not for months now. Some people convinced me it was like a mix of Fallout 3, Borderlands, and L4D so I decided to try it out. I hope its good.
My first 5 minutes with the game: Wow this is most definitely a console port. ... Wow the mouse is so laggy ... ... awesome. a crash when changing video settings. correction, Steam says I was playing for 2 minutes only. The next 5 minutes: holy crap why is the mouse so incredibly sensitive and touchy in game? Why is it so Fing slow in the menus? Why do I have to pick my mouse up 3 times just to get to the ok button? Why do I spin completely around when I move the mouse 3 inches in game? Why is the framerate so horribly laggy? Why does it say 60fps and run like 23fps? hmm textures look nice. Lighting too dear god. The bloom. make it stop The next few minutes: Why does my character think its ok to steal money from every place she sees? We dont know this is a zombie outbreak yet. Why are we stealing from everyone? Why are there things like gears in peoples closets? wow my flashlight has got to be the most advanced flashlight on the planet.
I've enjoyed it so far, though a couple of technical issues blew my mind (in that.. holy shit, Diablo 2 resolves these issues just fine why can't this). Those issues being No Display if you have a second monitor enabled (supposedly after you start playing you can re-enable it but I haven't tried) Crashes at title screen (not having displayed anything but audio at that point) if you run it off of an external drive (which is where I install my games to) I've found a couple of bugs as well but nothing gamebreaking though I'm only about 2 hours in.
