Well we are both making blind assumptions about each others sexual experiences, but if you've had negative experiences with the combination then I respect your sexual preferences, but I disagree with your objective premise.
My wife does not game at all, and she doesn't even enjoy watching it. I only play when she goes to bed and that seems to work. I also get a day here and there when she just takes the kids, she knows I enjoy playing and doesn't mind when I play as long as I don't break the controllers or keyboards(BF3 I hate you). You just have to go with what you want to prioritize, I would much rather have my family around then play games, but I still keep it as a hobby.
This right here is a marriage that works.. Family above games, but still given the chance to play etc...
Gaming over family all the way lol, but lets be serial for a moment, Me and my GF both play wow, me more hardcore than her ( i have to do all her class research, oh the joys on druid patches) and were both very happy, my ex on the other hand was a complete b***h when it came to gaming, to the point of trying to delete my account, and her reason for that was she didnt understand it and even after hours of explaining and showing her, Still failed to understand it, it goes from one end to the other and tbh there is no middle ground, "oh hunny i dont mind you playing for an hour or 2" = "get the feck of that game and put that much time into lvling our marrage" or " i dont mind you playing for an hour or 2" = " damn you, you got the sword ive been farming for for weeks"
Its much better to have someone to share you experiences with, whether that is stamp collecting, photography, walks in the woods or computer gaming, its all about commonality and sharing time. I actually met my partner through WoW, and she was even more hardcore than me so she understands what is needed to play the best you can, but also I have realised that gaming isnt the be-all anymore, i actually get to the stage at times where i play the games, not to play the games but to play with her and keep her happy (case in point, neopets... ffs...)
My partner and I regularly game together. She never really played games but I slowly started introducing her to them, now we both play. However I still play more than she does and have to do the boring tasks for her such as gathering etc to level up crafting and what not. I have found that it makes things more enjoyable being able to sit down and play games and have her play them with me. The best part is she enjoys PvP more than PvE!
