That makes me think, and Assassins Creed type approach to stealth classes in a game like this would be interesting. It would need to be thought through how it would work a little more simply because getting caught = game over wouldn't work in a MMO environment. But it would be a whole new viewpoint on assassins in MMO that would be closer to what an assassin really does.
To be honest, they need to provide some more substantial "content" rather than just general ideas for it to work out at this point. MJ's track record is stained and people know it, so he'll have to prove it's not another piss-poor DAoC-styled failure MMO this time around, and for my sake, he simply hasn't.
Unless it gets a funding boost at the end, it isn't on track. http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained/
Cause it knows you're lying through your teeth =] Unless they show actual gameplay footage, as much as i want CU to succeed, kinda feel they won't make it.
here it is from kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/stats Kickstarter Stats Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing in more ways than one. While 11% of projects finished having never received a single pledge, 81% of projects that raised more than 20% of their goal were successfully funded.
The chart goes up from there, especially on the bigger ones. It could very well fail but I wouldn't assume it will fail based on how it is trending.
If you look into the stats on failed kickstarters only %2 of all kickstarters fail after reaching 60% of their goal. Considering the rabid nature of DAOC fans I think thats a pretty safe bet, better odds than you will get in vegas
The nature of DAOC fans isn't as important as the number of fans. Wouldn't the fans pledge on day 1 ? Rock Paper Shotgun did an article about how close the kickstarter is to ending. If that causes a spike in the pledges/backers per day there will be some hope. If not, the pattern of the trend value decreasing over time will continue.
Based on kickstarters over all pledge graphic http://www.kickstarter.com/blog/shortening-the-maximum-project-length that seems like what we should expect. Will it make it? I dont know, some people just dont want to spend money on a game 2+ years away when there are other games so close to releasing with more info. Not to mention new consoles this year etc. They should of got more info together before launching the kickstarter imho.
The value it's trending towards has gone up slightly. Not enough to put the trend above 100%, but it's reversed the declining trend. Have a progress graphic that's automatically updated.
New Video: http://youtu.be/C-1a8xj2aBE I decided to back, what the hell, even if it turns out to be utter shit at least it is an RvR piece of poo which is better than playing the same PvE MMO over again.
