Sam, I am a complete and total nub at playing the guitar. Is there anywhere I can go online to help me learn? I started reading some things, and watching others on youtube. But I want something more indepth.
All of the tips that I gave in the first post are a great way to start, as far as online lessons go though, I'm not entirely sure, I'll do some research tomorrow.
Holy crap, I just learned high way to hell! It wasn't that hard. I am still trying to figure out how to slide and such without the notes sounding like total shit lol E ---------------|----------------|----------------|---------------- B ---2---2---2---|---3---3---3----|---3---3---3----|---3---3---3---- G ---2---2---2---|---2---2---0----|---2---2---0----|---2---2---0---- D ---2---2---2---|---0---0---0----|---0---0---0----|---0---0---0---- A ---0---0---0---|----------------|----------------|---------------- E ---------------|---2---2---3----|---2---2---3----|---2---2---3---- E -----------|------- B ---3----2---|---2--- G ---2---2---|---2--- D ---0---2---|---2--- A -------0---|---0--- E ---2-------|------- On this last part where it goes E -----------|------- B ---3----2---|---2--- G ---2---2---|---2--- D ---0---2---|---2--- A -------0---|---0--- E ---2-------|------- I would just strum on the Bottom E and then D, G, and B strings right?
That looks right. What you'd be doing is playing three kinds of chords: A major, or A5 if you want to cut out the bottom note, F#/D which bassically means a D major chord with the F# note in the bass, and then moving that note up to a G. So you strum out the A and then you just strum out the other two chords, letting your hand naturally mute that A string during the last two chords. I'll pull out my m-audio and record an example of how it can sound. I'll show you guys a little bit of what I can do as well. Remember guys, practice practice practice. ^_^
I got it, I can actually hear the song coming together, but my fingers hurt so bad from practicing for like 2 hours today rofl
Been warming up for the past hour, gotta play in my Acid Jazz/Funk 2 class with song Jesus' Children by Soline (Saline? Not sure, the sheet music doesn't have very legible hand writing as far as letters go lol. You should defanitly download and listen to that song. It's like 8 minutes long, which means my solo is going to be 5 minutes long, can't wait! All improvised ^_^. Don't worry Cox, your fingers will get used to it, my index finger has been aching a bit lately.
