Anyone playing or interested in playing some 2142?

shit i might play this again...though i need a better version of BF2142. i had some thailand version... have to buy it again i guess

Installed and started playing again today. Actually enjoyable

 

Oh god I miss BF2142. Those fun Berlin games in the APC, camping the onboard MG with my temporary "buddies" (provided I have a good driver that'll last the whole game, unless I'm the driver, which I'm good at being).

I miss the camp gibralter games when I used to rank first every round.

And the "CITY MAPS 24/7" server that used to host Belgrade all the time. I remember when I jihad-jeeped a tank and an APC at the same time, after running over two people consecutively. Oh those were the kickass moments I'd give $20 to have a video of.

Another time in Camp Gibralter as PAC I put RDXs on a jeep, drove up to what I think is called "Central Camp". I didn't need to blow up the jeep yet because there was nobody to blow up so I got off the jeep and hid on top of a ladder. Ten seconds later the jeep disappeared from my rader- someone was in it- an enemy. I blew it up and killed him. Then I proceeded to take the strategic point, solo. I hid behind the boxes upstairs, and then someone threw a grenade at me which landed next to me but surprisingly blew up to take off all but 1 health. I had 1 health and I was playing as the recon kit so consequentially I was unable to heal myself. That didn't matter anyway, since I was probably about to die. I got up from being prone, promply shot and killed my enemy with my Lambert, and continued holding the point. With 1 health I defended the point I was capturing and killed about 4-5 other people. Once the point was taken, my whole team of 31 other players began spawning there. I found a medic to heal me back up to 100% health. Then proceeded to helping my team win the game. Kickass.

...yea. It's frightening how many spectacular experiences and adventures I've had playing BF2142. Best FPS ever.

 

i know you're in CDN, but what do you think is the best place in USA to go? normally i see the original game for $20 which is too much imo.

well I consider $20 for the game / exp pack pretty cheap lol... but I usually see them for $15-$20 up here at places like EBGames... Futureshop (like BestBuy) sometimes has it as well for about that.
Really anywhere that sells PC games if you watch for it. (they seem to only stock 1 or 2 copies at a time and then go for a bit without any and then stock 1 or 2 more for some reason... maybe cause it's older now)

 

That's a pretty good group of people there. Do we have a date we can start doing this? Try to get a group of people on at one time.

I finally got my version to work on Windows 7. So I will be playing every now and then =) I'm a bit rusty tho.
