Ok booted with an xp64 disk. Deleted that partition, formatted and installed xp64. that got rid of the win 7 boot screen. Problem solved..

I chose that ram because of the lower latencies. 8-8-8-24 as opposed to 9-9-9-24. Lower = faster.
