Seems to be quite a few people building newer PCs/updating and some of us with already built hungry PCs. With that in mind would people be interested in pushing their PCs and benchmarking with a few programs to see who sits where?A little meaningless competition for no reason? Typical programs being: Unigine Heaven 4.0<--- Download Link Settings: Preset- Custom API- DX11 Quality- Ultra Tessellation- Extreme Stereo 3D- Disabled Muilti-Monitor- Disabled AA- x8 Resolution- 1920x1080 Unigine Valley 1.0<--- Download Link Settings Preset- Extreme HD 3DMark11<--- Download Link Settings Preset- Performance Run- Benchmark tests only Cinebench R11.5 (64-bit)<--- Download Link (*autodownload*) Settings Just press the run option next to CPU Prime95 v27 64-bit<--- Download Link (*autodownload*) Settings I believe for Prime95 you just have to hit the "Benchmark" option under options and it does the rest. 3DMark Fire Strike<--- Download Link Settings You'll just have to run all the tests unless you have the advanced version and get your score for fire strike. Typical rules being you have to post a screenshot of the completed run with your score and your clocks on CPU/GPU and all settings generally on max @ 1080p. With the most up to date version. XoO Benchmarking Competition Spreadsheet I have included multiple benchmark tabs in the spreadsheet for now. If you want to run them it is up to you. Not sure if will only use a few or all of them yet. For now, only I can edit the spreadsheet. Once we start the competition I will open it up.
*Looks at Titan thread* I Think I know who is going to come on top for the GPU Bench I'm sure you'll beat somebody Enigma! Nobody will be beating Doxy on the GPU bench. Should there be a scoring system? Do a top three for each benchmark and award 5 for 1st, 3 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd then do a combined score across like 3 benchmarks to determine a winner?
Im pretty sure if Aral finishes building his monster pc with x2 gtx 670 SC FTWs, he could be number 1 =] But he has to participate in the benching competition. Ill start benching hopefully next week, if by that time i'll receive my Titan.
That will give me some time to set up the spreadsheets to keep track of everything. I'll leave them so anyone can edit them and input their own scores where they need to go on the sheet. I'll start a new thread with all the specific info for doing this when the details are hammered out. Any thoughts on the scoring system? When it's all done maybe we can get Kyoji or someone to post up on the front page that we are having an e-peen competition to get the people in the darkest corners of XoO to participate. I'm going to look into converting Airmiles/petro points into some sort of currency that would allow me to get a second gtx 670 4 gb
Well, adding scores from all of te benchmarks imho is the only way to get the final score. or added score divided by number of benchmarks
Adding/averaging scores doesn't really work in synthetic benchmarks because some give you much larger numbers.
That was the same thought I had earlier today. The scores don't scale for performance in each mark so there needs to be a way to even them all out if we want to do an overall system winner. So I will stand by my previous scoring method unless someone can think of a better way. The other option is we just keep a chart and each benchmark will have a winner with no combined.
Doesn't seem like alot of people are interested in this =] Think it would be best if we just used 3dmark11 to bench.
I can give everyone my code for 3dmark ... it doesnt seem to be track and i got it free from work ... PM me
Im down for benchmarking, if i am able to get my other 2 7950's rma'd in time, i think i can give you guys a run for your money.
You going to come and play Erock? We'll keep those in mind Rbstr. I have heard that they are extremely tough on CPUs for no good reason though. Some people may not want to run them. ***Updated OP with download links for all the benchmarks there so far and a rough draft of the spreadsheet we will use.***
