WoW: Wrath of Lich King Given Release Window Blizzard has loosely dated expansion World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King for sometime between October and December this year. According to Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime: We have said that it will be coming out this year. I can tell you it's not coming in the July to September quarter. Awfully kind of him to narrow it down like that. Mike's nice like that, you know. Kotaku Well DUH
The wow haters are out in force, eh? Too bad wow is the most successful mmorpg out there and sets the standard by which all other mmorpgs are judged. But w/e 8 million people are wrong I guess. seahawk and kav know what they're talking about, guise.
I preordered a few days ago. Gamestop/EB Games(yes, take this with a grain of salt) is saying Nov 3rd, which falls nicely in that window.
its because I used to beat on kav like a red-headed step child that he has come to fear the game. Don't worry, Kav, I hurt you cause I love you. NO MORE WIRE COAT HANGERS. its more of the same thing, sure, but at least i can restyle my hair =p
eh not sure if I am going to get this or not... I had my share of BC and everything, been playing since release of WoW... Warhammer is so much more intuitive though. But like I said, just my 2 cents, take it as you will
Just because it has 8 million subscribers it makes it successful? The game offers nothing and is a waste of time. I think you started playing just before the first expansion, so you didn't have time to enjoy the game when it was at it's best. When the game involved Battlegrounds, guild rivalries cross faction or otherwise, 40 man raiding, and then some more world PvP. That was when the game was fun, but what you're used to playing is the mindless weekly waste of time doing Arenas with cookie cutter combos that change every month because a certain class becomes too overpowered. I bet you think it's real stable too huh? Trust me, I do know best. Btw, those 8 million people? Yeah, they're just waiting for Warhammer Online, but they keep playing not because they're addicted, some people aren't, but because they've spent so much time on one thing they have no connections to anything else I'm sorry, i'm trying to prevent drama, but it boggles me how people can be so ignorant.
Um, yes. I think a game with 8 million subscribers is successful. duh. Just because you have become jaded and cynical when it comes to wow doesn't mean that the rest of us feel that way, including relative newcomers and people that have been there since the beginning. You're full of shit, kav. You come into a wow thread, post some bs like "wow sucks" and then have the nerve to say "I'm trying to prevent drama". If the fact that I still enjoy a pretty fun game makes me ignorant, then so be it. I don't really care whether you like or appreciate wow at all. Just keep your opinions to your self.
I'd like to see how you could describe it as not being successful when it is probably the most profitable MMO around. Not to mention having more subscriptions than any other MMO (10 million compared to less than 1.5 million for second place). Remember a game studios primary goal with their games is for them to be profitable. The more profit the better, and anything that doesn't server to maximise profits in the long term is a bad idea. So how do you measure success ? Care to prove that you know best ? Do you have any proof for this ? And since I haven't been paying Warhammer much attention, what makes it so special ? Your the one that comes into two different drama free WoW threads to make the one line post "WoW sucks". Then when your called on it you tell us to trust you with baseless claims and expect us to believe that you were "trying to prevent drama" with what looks like trolling.
