    I installed windows 7 on a seperate partition on my d drive. Xp is installed on c. Everything worked fine and had the choice to boot to either xp or 7. I decided to get rid of the win 7. I formatted the ppartition from xp through my computer. When i reboot i still get the option to boot to win 7. Heres what my boot ini reads from xp.

    ;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
    ;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
    ;
    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT

    Any suggestions? as i have multiple friends with the same or nearly the same issue.

    Ok booted with an xp64 disk. Deleted that partition, formatted and installed xp64. that got rid of the win 7 boot screen. Problem solved..
