Ok so, along with my other build thread I was wondering about cases. Currently I am looking at a LIAN LI PC-V2120B Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112311). Currnetly that case is $70 off, so need to make a decision soon. I am really stuck on the lian li, its my preferred brand... Also looked at the NZXT Switch and the Corsair D800 but they dont have doors on the front... Also the Lian Li PC-P80NB has everything i want but is a bit out of the budget... 350-400 is too much for a case. Needs/Wants: watercooling capability full tower good air flow door on the front? gotta look sexy. nothing gaudy. Wants: Excellent cable management (gromets, hidey holes, magic) Budget: $300 Any suggestions?
800D. I freaking love my case. I am biased of course. It has no door though because I hate them and the case is made for watercooling. Mayabe wait for the 900D to get a better look at the features? It looks like it will have a front door.
Cosmos II Fits all requirements, it has very good build quality, easy to slide around because of the rails on it too, and carry. Or see if you can find a Cosmos 1000, I had that tower which is almost the same and I bought mine for $150 on sale. You might be able to find someone who has one still for well within your budget. Or the Cosmos II here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006P88VNE...&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&ref=asc_df_B006P88VNE And Cosmos 1000: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master...F8&qid=1346281981&sr=1-1&keywords=Cosmos+1000 The 1000 is more sleek looking IMO than the newer Cosmos II. The brushed aluminum is very nice. Here are good pics of each if you want to see: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-NA-_-NA http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138
damn those arent bad, but for the price id almost rather go with the lian li and just do the wiring right
Cosmos 2 period. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119252&Tpk=cosmos 2 I owe cosmos 2 case and love it. Best case i had in 12 years. Cable management is superb and the case looks very sexy =]
i opted for the lian li based on amazing price (newegg had a $50 off promo code) and the sexiness of the lian li. I plan to just do the cabling right and buy extensions where i need them.
FYI, Lian Li is looking for user input as they plan their next product generation on what you are looking for. Figured you might be interested in casting your vote Bishop http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums...nd-Mid-Tower-or-an-Entry-Mid-Level-Full-Tower
I did a side by side comparison of the Cosmos II to several cases at the local microcenter... I dont get it, guys? Why? Its vulgar, bulky, and has no single feature that sets it apart other than its, shall we say, unique look.- and it is quite overpriced. Sell me, gents.
I had the Cosmos 1000, not the Cosmos II. Both looks very similar in design though, but I like the old 1000 better. Its build quality is up on the tier or Lian Li, much better than things like Antec or most other Cooler Master cases. The removable bays for the hard drives can be sort of handy. Fan layout is very nice and you can fit a dual 120mm radiator at the top with fans on both sides of the radiator. The air intake/exhaust for the PSU is perfect. The handles make it very easy to move around which was a big plus for me as I used to take my computer to friends houses. The noise absorption is better installed than most other cases I have seen, the release/latch mechanism for the side panel works perfect, far above any other case I have ever used. I am pretty sad that I sold the case to Blackice. I didnt realize how much I loved it and how unique the case was until it was gone and I was on my next one. Hey Bishop, what do you think of my suggestion to Lian Li for a new design? http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums...l-Full-Tower&p=5134126&viewfull=1#post5134126
those are some interesting points. Funny though, the display that I looked at- the latch was a joke. Must have been busted. I can concede that I had a rough time getting past the looks. I went for a Fractal instead. But I can see how those big bars could be handy erm... handles when you want to lug the thing around.
