On Feb 14, 15, and 16 IBM will be putting up a computer vs 2 of the best previous Jeopardy champions. Here’s an article with video at the end showing some of the practice sessions they’ve had with the champions. What’s remarkable is that it’s doing real time natural language processing to understand what’s being said, and then process this and comes up with the top 3 answers (with percent of confidence in it’s accuracy) within 3 seconds. Simply amazing. I will definitely be watching these 3 episodes to see how it plays out. I expect it will be similar to when Deep Blue beat Kasparov in Chess http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/13/ibms-watson-supercomputer-destroys-all-humans-in-jeopardy-pract/
yeah I saw something regarding this a bit ago. I was amazed at what I saw. the computer was slow to start but got stronger as the sessions went on. AI ftw. get ready for the terminators.
Since jeopardy is taped months in advance. I imagine the computer won since IBM has been bragging in commercials lately.
The full Jeopardy match is a total of the two game winnings. The first game is complete now and here's how things are breaking out: End of 1st Match: Ken Jennings (record of 74 straight games won, 2nd highest Jeopardy earnings winner): $4,300 Brad Rutter (undefeated and #1 highest Jeopardy earnings winner): $10,400 Watson: $35,734 For what it's worth, both contestants got Final Jeopardy correct to double their winnings while Watson got that question wrong and lost money at the end ::x: Match 2 is today and the overall winner of both games takes the prize. Watson has had his share of issues while on the way to finishing #1 but obviously not enough to impact his results much. Write up

All videos are up. Watson almost quadrupled the next highest score, yet he knows nothing about a keyboard!
Yeah, that's one of the hard topics because one has to do some pretty interesting double meaning comparisons of words to get those right. That something we can still do relatively easily that is incredibly hard for "him". Watson certainly has room for improvement but even in his current state destroys his best competition. I feel sufficiently good about witnessing what was the next "Deep Blue vs Kasparov" in chess. Now we just need to wait 10 years to have this on our phones lol
you can ask watson a question yourself..on REDDDIT http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/fnfg3/by_request_we_are_the_ibm_research_team_that/
