http://www.gamespot.com/video/945727/6193807/videoplayerpop?rgroup=e32008_story This whole video is fucking intense. And dare I say...Tyranids? Fuck it, here's a Q&A that goes with it. Just for my friends at XoO http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy...vert&om_clk=newlyadded&tag=newlyadded;title;1
How so? I snagged this off another forum and at the end of the post they mentioned Tyranids. I don't know 40k lore well enough to see it...
Tyrainds move around in massive hive fleets. The fleets spread themselves out like tendrils. When one of these finds biomass, the fleet moves toward it. Watch the night sky at the beginning and the end of the video. That brown cloud has to be a Tyranid fleet spreading out looking for biomass.
I'm trying to figure out what that sniper Eldar troop was. I haven't played since 2nd edition, so it could just be something from 3rd edition on, but if not I think it looks like it could be a Dark Reaper (though they used missle launchers) or a Harlequin Death Jester (though I think I've heard they split Harlequins and Eldar in 3rd or 4th edition). Perhaps someone better in the know could tell me? The whole thing looked badass though, and yeah it seems like a Tyranid hive fleet.
First sign of a tyranid invasion if it's daytime and you lack spacecraft. The sky turns red with spores that cause the wildlife to accelerate its grown and become ravenous even to large carnivores. To fight a tyranid invasion is to fight the planet itself.
DoWII is reportedly launching with 4 races, like the first game. SM's and Orcs have already been confirmed, and Eldar are looking like race #3 as they have appeared in gameplay videos. Chaos are suspected to be the fourth for obvious reasons. However, the 4 race launch idea could change and from my understanding has yet to be fully confirmed.
outside of the sexy: this appears to be just DoW run thought a better renderer (adding 3D maps and capture-able buildings). And knowing and growing up with GW (Games Workshop...not GuildWars nubcakes...sheesh)...it is all too familiar for them to release an only slightly changed and improved version of the same thing at twice the price. But as like growing up with GW I will happily also buy this game and play the snot out of it regardless. BTW: Warp Spiders RULE!
lol I played all expansion but own up to Necrons just wasnt getting alot of games played not enough players and then now they release Tyranids? I mean wat da hell but it looks well polished and maybe I will buy it but game is awsome non-the less
