Was visiting HMS Lancaster, walked past a American sub (didn't see the name and couldn't recognize the class). Gotta say, I laughed a bit! Everyone in baseball caps and full desert camo, and at least 3 guys looking like they think they are the baddest people to grace Portsmouth naval harbor in years, swinging their rifles around.

Not a dig at America, I think all submariners are nuts, yet.. we all know we have the better Navy ;)!

We had some Royal Navy guys visiting the U.S.S. JFK. in the early 90s. They were wondering where they could get some beer. :)

I would tend to disagree that Royal Navy is the best in the world currently. I do know that they could certainly outdrink most of us when we were visiting various ports together.

I resent that remark; we have much better food.

Well I am not 'officially' in the RN yet. In the application process to become a Air Engineer Office, hopefully being attached to a Merlin Squadron. Its nice to know there are some XoO navy boys around :)

doubt china was laughing when 3 subs turned up on their doorstep this week...about total of 460 tomahawk missles in asian ports.

We are shifting our naval might.

Well there are two types of subs... The ones you see, they are made to hunt ships across the oceans, and the ones you don't, they are made to sit at the bottom of the ocean and hunt entire countries with nuclear warheads...

Sorry Taken, I was referring to land mass only. I don't think anyone would doubt your statement either.

Nice! I was an AT2 worked on Electronic Countermeasures on EA-6Bs with VAQ-130. I was on the JFK during the first gulf war and then a second cruise in 92-93 to the Med. We got to visit France, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

I was in the Navy from 88-94 and the last couple of years were on shore in VAQ-129.

    But I digress... :D

I said your country is small, in other words it's equal to Louisiana in size.

She said your food stinks. Well compared to Creole or Cajun, whatever the kids call it these days.

Bollocks. You go round the English countryside and find a nice pub. Sit in said pub, drink a nice lager or whatever takes your fancy. Order a big pub lunch, and enjoy. Best food in the world!

But then, america is a much bigger country so you will have a more diverse cuisine ;)!
