Ok there is a difference in the kitten thread and the WA thread... the kitten thread people can go back and read or look through and enjoy the content... The WA thread on the other hand is mostly posts which are not even the WA game, and on top of that it has Zero content for anyone else. The kitten thread IMO was not created to spam up post counts either, where I am not so sure on the WA game... So... I don't want to see another WA thread... but if you want a bored game, put some effort into it... I have seen the same type game but used to create a story... which can turn really funny and has potential for people to go back and read. Rules would be something along the lines of: 1) each post has to add at least 1 sentence 2) keep it clean (this isn't playboy) 3) dont' post again if your the last person to post or last person to post a story post 4) try to add something that keeps the rest of the story intact, but also lets it branch off 5) end your bit of the story mid sentence... so something like "jeb walks into the bar and sees the horse sitting at the bar. He walks over and asks the horse, why the long face? The horse turns to him and says..." See the differance? It's creative, it can get really funny, and people can go back and read it and actually get some entertainment from it. This doesn't have to be the exact game you play, but if you come up with something creative that contains content that people can read and enjoy then we will allow it. IF we create a new "lose the skirt" forum, then the WA game can be played there, but honestly I would prefer to avoid that type forum. It doens't represent a mature community very well at all.
oh and I have removed the WA thread. It was mostly bickering anyways and not people playing the game...
Problem is that it shouldn't be about post counts in forums anyway. Everyone has some epeen thing on posts and its probably the saddest thing I've seen in a guild forum. The other problem was that someone tried to create a simple game and half of this "mature" guild went in there and A.) didn't play it B.) spammed it saying it creates spam when 90% of the people in there have more posts than the OP and from what I've seen play WA in every thread in the forum C.) None of it was even part of an intelligent argument I apologize but I don't see how posting kitten pictures that 99% of the people probably didn't make and I'm sure we've all seen before in ever forum on the internet more creative than associating a word to another. Hell one just wastes more bandwidth. The excuse of "post count" and "more creative" just doesn't make sense. I'd like to apologize to Illfated Fat publicly because I never meant to get her thread locked nor offend her. I just meant to state the fact that closing threads because they don't agree with one person's supposedly pointless opinion is not professional at all. This not only goes for game threads and picture threads but threads in general. So after seeing the general attitude the guild has over posting I probably won't be contributing to the public forums again and this is the last time I'll be posting in this thread. So if you want to complain about something send me a PM. Peace, Sokar.
Its just like cyber!!! We used to do this as a party game..but we limited it to three words so that the one person could not finish a thought.. It didn't always make a coherent story line..but mostly hillarious. Then again we were drunk at the time. Once upon a.....
everyone is allowed their opinion of course, but I find it silly to not post in a forum because one type of thread was determined to be spam, but whatever, to each their own... Regardless of if everyone agrees or not, we have loose moderation rules against what we consider spam. My personal opinion of spam is that its anything that does not contribute some sort of content that others can enjoy or use in some way. The kitten thread is borderline... but it brings smiles to those that love kittens, or amusement to those that post a dog in there... and someone can come along and read it, and be entertained by it. The WA thread no one is gonna be entertained after they post, and in most cases will only read the last few posts so you even end up with single word posts that are the same as 10 other people posted. I have a lot of moderation experience, and I know that if you lock a thread or remove a thread your gonna tick someone off... but it comes down to how many people are bothred by the thread to begin with... I know I don't want the WA thread popping up in my new posts each time I check the forums... sure you can ignore it, but it adds to the pages you hve to look through, and whos to say you don't end up with 10 other games like it as well... then you have 10+ of these things showing up in the new posts. I personally love photo threads... they break up the forums from walls of text and sigs...
Wasn't there one of those story threads on the old forums, those kind of games are fun and limiting it to 3 words make it a lot of fun because you cant really get your thought across so someone else may take it in a completely different direction. horse there was
Yay Jeb! Thanks for laying down the LAW! So we want a story thread should we make a new one instead of trying to use this one yes?
Thanks Jeb for taking care of this. I'm sorry that it had to get this far, and thanks to commie too, for taking immediate care of the situation . For the record, the kitten thread isn't the only photo thread in this forum, so next time please leave the poor baby kittens alone YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE SOULS OF KITTENS SAD. Remember, every time you argue, god kills a kitten
Thanks for sorting this out, Jeb. Generally what I find is that super logical arguments should be a last resort or should at least work in tandem with your personal feeling on the issue, for it is logic which demeans value, and you can sometimes lose your way. All of which is understandable <3 Less dramax on the forums plz. Edit: WHERE R MY KITTENZ
