http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/name_ISS/index.html Currently, Serenity (yeah, that Serenity) is leading with 82% of the votes. Let's go ahead and push to solidify that!
I think NASA should shut down for 4 years or 8. I don't think we can afford to have $150+ million satellites that nose-dive into Antarctica.
Failure is unfortunate but inevitable when pushing the boundaries of science and technology. Go hide in your cave.
Even Brazil has a space program... but I do not know if Canada does. big part of that is that most non-weather satellites are in a equatorial orbit (weather are in a polar orbit) and thus countries on or near the equator require a substantially smaller amount of energy to attain orbit, thus increasing the payload size per rocket. the US doesn't launch from Southern California/Florida for no reason. Serenity is winning big time and it's very awesome that it is.
Well, until any Canadians can prove that they pay tax dollars for more failures from NASA, I don't think they should be posting in this thread.
Actually, we do have a space program. It's called the (get this) Canadian Space Program. The Canadian Space Agency works closely with NASA, and actually provides a chunk of technology to them... like the shuttle arms and station arm. Why do you think they call 'em Canadarms? And we've contributed close to $1.5 billion to the International Space Station. That sounds like a pretty darn good excuse to vote in a NASA poll. Take a wild guess where the money came from. So... given that we DO contribute, and that NASA found it in their hearts to open the poll to Canucks... I'm just gonna feel jim-dandy about posting here. As for thinking a nation does not have the right to post or share their thoughts in a thread, I don't know that you get to make that call. This started in the name of fun. Thank you for raining on the parade.
at least thats claim, though this is hardly the first topic that shows signs of how adult some are. i voted again at work for Serenity to offset that silly vote for Venture current results: Earthrise 6% Legacy 5% Serenity 84% Venture 5%
Good job. $1.5 bil is alot. Especially compared to NASA's flubbing budget. But have fun with the poll.
traitor! and Enterprise can't be a station module... they have to save that name for when the Vulcan's arrive
