Looking for decent (free) video capturing software for the creation of in game videos. Tried FRAPS, Xsplit and overwolf but know their must be others out in the wild.

Dxtory. It's the only program I use. Be sure to install the lagarith lossless codec. I don't take any hit to FPS recording lossless.

If u have a NVIDIA card it's integrated, free and works like a charm now, called stealth recording on the nvidia experience thingie, no FPS hit at all even on modern demanding games.

Don't know if AMD added something like that too but they should as it's on PS4 and X1 (i think ?) now too.

That would be shadowplay ;) I haven't actually used it yet. Only problem I have with Dxtory is that it doesn't play nice with precisionX/HWinFo overlay.

Shadowplay is quite sexy but you can also use OpenBroadcaster to record to file which is what I use to stream as well. As far as Dxtory goes it is freaking amazing if your processor is having issues handling the game and the recording. (you can grab a torrent of a cracked version somewhere)
