I wanted to talk to you all today about a game called Toxikk. This game has been in development for quite a while by an indie studio with the goal to produce a competitive arena type FPS game, a genre that has been missing from the FPS landscape ever since Halo, Call of Duty, and Battlefield took over and ruined the competitive landscape. What is an arena FPS game? The most widely known titles would be Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena, though Team Fortress 2 also fits the style but of a much less competitive nature. For years now we have been hearing more and more people call for a return of the genre, being tired of the mediocrity of CoD and BF. Now the games are finally making a return, with a few big name games under development. We will see Toxikk, a return of Unreal Tournament, and Overwatch just to name a few. However I believe that Toxikk offers our best bet right now for real competitive play and the most fair and balanced game. This will be the game the FPS division will be pushing into in the coming months, with the goal of getting a top ranked team going in tournaments. Everyone is welcome to come play with us whether you want to be in the main team or not. This game will be a great reprieve from the MMOs you have been playing for months, being an easy way to unwind for a while. A game without the need to spend an hour or more just to do anything in game. And now, onto the game itself!

I don't know about you, but that gets me incredibly excited for this game. It is bringing back everything we loved about the arena FPS games, with a development team that is not beholden to a big name publisher who only cares about the money. This game will have clan play in mind from the very beginning, full Steam integration for ease of use, dedicated servers, LAN play, custom maps can be voted on to add to the game, no pay to win of any kind. And also something very important, a very low cost of entry. The game is $15 right now, and will go up to $20 for the full game once it gets released into beta. This game wont cost your $60 initially and another $50 over the next few months just to keep playing multiplayer, like Call of Duty and Battlefield games.

You can buy the game here:

Or I have two extra keys I can sell you for $15 as well. I know another member of XoO who is getting the big $90 pack and he will probably have some extra keys to sell (or give?) away as well.

I hope you all join us in playing this game, and if you are interested in being on our team be sure and join us in the FPS division to get more involved.

Toxikk will stay 25% off till Jan 10th. It will then be offered at full price ($20) on Steam after that and will be released for early access on Jan 22nd! This isn't like a normal early access release though, the game will be near finished and will have all the final graphics, UI, sound, etc. It will just be tweaking and minor polishing to fix any little balance issues that are found with more players in game. The game will only stay "early access" for a few months before being called a complete game. In the words of the dev's: "We'll be working with a pair of tweezers, not a jack-hammer."

I haven't played an FPS in ages, so I will probably be god awful at this one, but it looks awfully good.
