Bump. Went to see it, best 3D visuals I've seen so far. Was good except for the ending. A lot of avenger references (Tony Stark especially), which was nice to see.
It was good. Saw it opening night. Ending was terrible, and the after-credit spoiler didn't make a lick of sense; but anyway... I've never really liked Thor as a comic book character. I felt it was uncreative, and it forced the rest of the avenger world to adhere to the "religious" views of norse mythology, which didn't really make much sense to me. Like if Odin really were the big man in the sky, and Odin clearly involves himself in the affairs of humanity quite often, then what is the need for the avengers?
The after credit scene is a prelude to the avengers movie as Loki will be the bad guy. http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/05/07/thor-cosmic-cube-post-credits-scene/
I liked it and he fcking HAWT... Also its the guy that died at the start of Star Trek =P the one that crashed the ship into the other ship. From whats said thats how he got the Thor role lol
I know it's all comic book based and I have never read them but I am a huge fan of Norse mythology so it was fun to get a glimpse of someones idea of Asgard and Jotunheim.....even if it was in a comic book setting. Overall it was a really fun movie and I don't really have any criticisms of it. I'm pretty easy to please and I got what I was expecting so can't really be disappointed with it. I like how they had Hawkeye in it in a very small role.
