So its all confirmed Tauren Paladins, Worgen and Goblins. Go and see for yourself http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/ and try and not lol. Blizzard must enjoy ruining there games lore(some features look like an improvement though). Just posted an update as there is a website up now. Dont know how long its been up for though. Also well done MMO Champion most of there information seems to be spot on. P.S Sorry if all these WoW: Cataclysm threads are getting annoying just couldnt help myself
Actually....The story behind Cataclysm fits perfectly into the lore. The only thing IMO that screws it up is the class/race combo changes. The story about Neltharian becoming corrupt and tearing himself into Azeroth, thus turning the world upside down is actually true. Read up on Deathwing a little then think about it. The Worgen have always been more of a neutral race for the most part, so I'm not surprised they joined the Alliance. I don't care much for the goblins personally, but they seem to fill a hole in the horde as well. I don't understand why people seem to think the lore is getting rolled over. Ignore the class/race combo changes, and think of them as game-related only. If you want to talk about lore, look at the story.
Also, you have to wonder, since these people in Gilneas were never corrupted as far as I know, by Arugal or Arthas etc... But they actually just fell to the worgen disease, they could actually be friendly or what not, but since the undead are attacking them now that the wall is destroyed, the only people to come to their aid would be the alliance. So I could see how it would go THAT way. But iirc these people were never corrupted except for the worgen disease. I dunno, I haven't read up on my Gilneas lore in a while.
All I see is that once again, Allies get the 'cool' new race. Also, there is already a thread about this right below this one.
Once again? Except Blood Elfs are 10,000,000,000,000 times cooler than Dranei and the BE starting zone is one of Blizzard's crowning achievements, where the dranei starting zone is a pain and doesn't really make any sense. Dranei females are hotter when they cast spells, but that's about the only thing they have going for them.
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/_images/features/raceclassmatrix_en_US.jpg trolls and worgen will be able to be druids? NE mages really doesn't fit at all with the lore... sigh lol Most of the stuff I am seeing for this "expansion" should have been done with free content updates... stuff like redoing the old zones etc I have been wanting for ever as those IMO were some of the best zones in the game, and now they just get sped through as fast as possible. But paying for updated existing zones IMO is a greed move by blizzard..
so, the truth is revealed... call Al Gore! Neltharian is behind Global Warming!!! and troll druid makes the most sense of them all if you look at all the shape changing troll bosses throughout the game. and i never understood how orcs could warlock but not mage... but most importantly, where is my tauren rogue?!?! what, my stun lock's failing? WAR STOMP! but seriously, if you think about it, what other horde race could be a paladin besides the blood elf? they're all a stretch in the lore... and they already placed quests to help prepare the lore for that change. and they want every class to have 2 races toward it, so there you go: a confused cow starts to lolret
They reimagined most of the old zones. In the video you can see Tanaris is a forest, barrens has cliffs and rivers of fire, Azshara is a new starter zone, etc.
Ummm, are you smoking crack? The BE starting zone is decent, but the draenei starting zone is by far the best starting area. I have spoken to several people who tried it out and agree with me... you are the first I've heard of to disagree. Simply put, I've leveled a few blood elves to the mid 20s-30s, and I haven't made it through the BE starting area once, for the sole purpose that it was dull. I have leveled 2 draenei and finished their areas without getting bored. I agree that blood elves are cooler than draenei though... This is what I was thinking, but didn't bother to post because most of the people complaining would just keep complaining A troll druid, it makes sense. If someone complains and says that trolls use the magic differently, or aren't as 'down to earth' as tauren or night elves, you could simply point to the fact that Blood elves don't use the power of the light for paladins, they have to corrupt the light, or something...
i would contend that ghostlands is much faster leveling than barrens and much smarter since you still count mount in the teens levels. all the quest hubs are very well put together for quick leveling. it may not be the "best zone" for content, but its questing is quick, the birds drop the eggs that sell for 30g at christmas, and i take non-BE's over there to level once they hit level 6 or 7 and start at silvermoon yeah, trolls and tauren casting the "paw" buff as they go through life shoeless.
I don't ever play alliance.. so I wouldn't know. as for Horde.. I agree the BE zone is the best. I didn't have many newbs when it came out, but when I needed one, I ran his ass there to level. If you needed to plevel someone, that was the best
Ok first of all Blizzard needs to get off of there WoW band wagon, its getting old and there just milking crap now, you guys say it fits the lore just fine, OF COURSE IT DOES, blizzard made that lore and they can add or change what ever they want whenever they want, so there is no set lore aside from whats there already, they can just go oh BTW we didnt tell you this part of the story yet, and there gonna do that FOREVER! just to make money! and secondly they need to work harder on the other projects people have been waiting on like idk SC2, which i have been waiting for since I was back in high school -_- or diablo 3, any of these ringing any bells?
Why though? WoW makes more money then SC2 and D3 would. I am with you I want to play D3 right now. I would pay money to download the blizzcon demo. Still I can't blame Blizzard for it's WoW expansion focus. Plus as I have read each team has it's own developers so one shouldn't affect the other.
Your right it shouldn't effect the other games but how many times has SC2 been pushed back now, and whats the one main complaint about D3, that it looks to much like WoW and a happy game instead of the dark core the game was built on, so yeah it shouldn't effect the other games, but it has
The Starcraft Delay is due to Battle.net and not the SC game. As per the bolded part of your quote. Are you currently paying attention to D3 or are you just basing that off what people have said in the past? Critical Explosion: Cold Critical Hit with skeleton flying: Monk Exploding Palm It's got gore. It's still dark. Don't worry.
Going by your logic, you could say that AoC looks like WoW. Or WAR looks like WoW. Why? Because its a similar landscape, similar style of graphics and relatively similar character types. And SC2 hasn't been pushed back because of WoW, its been pushed back because of problems with battle.net and multiplayer and such. Now, as for the initial post SC2 wasn't announced until like 2 years ago, IIRC, and D2 was like a year ago (don't quote me on those times though). First of all. Quit saying 'Stop working on a game that I don't like, and work on the ones that I like', that's just sheer greed. There are plenty of people who pay a monthly fee for WoW, and need reason to play once they finish the content. Honestly, if they can keep coming up with content, they don't really have any reason to stop, since people will still play. And they have been working on SC2 a lot. I have just done a bit of research, and SC2 was announced in '07. Its been two years since they've started, and they've developed the campaign, and are working on final touches on multiplayer/battle net. 2 years for a good game is not that long a development time, and 2.5 isn't bad either. And Diablo 3 was announced a year ago. I'm not sure what stage of development they're on for that game, though. Blizzard is perfectly fine with the progress they're making, since their games are always high quality, and loads of fun (except maybe lost vikings, I've never attempted to play that.
I'm not much for WoW lore but my buddy played games leading up to WoW and knows about the lore. He mentioned something dealing with draenei's beginning area was never there, obviously death knights only paladins can be DKs. Few other things those two come to mind I can't really think of the other things he complains about. Anyone mind clarifying, I'm just saying because when ever I bring WoW he just craps all over it and complains about the lore lol I really don't care all much, just like to get my facts straight =]
everyone gets the remade zones for free i believe. paid content is being able to play the new races and new zones. I've been playing cata beta for a week now, the new zones are pretty awesome. I enjoy the goblin starter zone to worgen. worgen zone feels incomplete and mashed together. gob zone is actually fun to play i'm still a little weirded out on items having SO much Stam on it. I mean most the blue stuff you get has like 250+ stam on it. Mages with 80k HP? wtf! have not seen any epics though... 350+ stam maybe? good lord! overall though, im excited to play cata live. ^ LOL
