Listen to this with a pair of headphones to be blown away. This is a new surround sound technology developed by AMD.

Count me as impressed but I don't feel like a video on youtube portrays new technology well. Does it sound nice? For sure. Is it nicer than a current hi-def movie? I am not really sure.

Edit: Wait a second. This video is from 2011.

Well it was pretty impressive, but when is it all coming out?
As PR stated, the video is pretty old.

Yes, it's 2 years old, but with only 10k views, it's new to 99.999999999999% of us. It has yet to be used in the market.

Actually, the patent for this was filed 10 years ago. And it's based on 20 years of research. So make that 30 years. We are just now getting to hear it.

Works ok. I dont know if it was intended, but none of the audio sounds like the person is speaking in front of you. All sound effects and such are the same way, just varying degrees of to the sides or back. Other surround sound tech such as DTS Headphone:X and Dolby Headphone do not have this problem. But maybe it is just how it comes across on the video with my headphones, IDK. Youtube video can be pretty hard to convey certain aspects sometimes.

Also remember if you have any sort of surround sound turned on, be it headphone tech built into your phones or Windows setting, you will need to turn that off to properly hear the demo. This is designed for taking 2 channel audio played through headphones and making it seem as if it was true surround sound.

This kind of stuff is actually pretty old

In fact, Pink Floyd used this in The Final Cut album back in the 80s.
