Well, we are back. Rubius and myself, as well as 3 friends went up to my cottage from the 2nd of August to the 5th. And it was a blasty blast. Allow me to recount the adventures we had.

The drive up to the cottage was as expected. Leaving the Saturday of a long weekend proved to be rather frustrating at times on Highway 400 going North. Some of the backups were a pain in the ass, especially the gawkers slowing down to see an accident or something on the south-bound side of the highway. We get up to the Bunny Trail, a 20-30 minute winding road that leads you almost right to my cottage. While on the Bunny Trail, we ran into a snag. The 2nd set of train tracks we must cross had the warning lights going, the dingers dinging, and the stoppers were down. I'm driving Ru's car at this point, so I stop at the stopper, and Chris (one of the friends with us) stops behind me. We wait a bit for a train to show up, or for the stoppers to go up...but nothing happened. Minutes pass, and still nothing. Chris hops out of the car behind us, and I hop out of mine. We look at each other and walk towards the tracks. Mike, Rubius and eventually Cynthia follow suit.

More cars eventually show up behind us, ask us whats going on, and after a quick discussion, we all say "fuck it" and drive around.

We arrive at my cottage, and after unpacking out shit and the tour has been given to those who haven't been there before, we settle down at the front of the cottage and just unwind from the trip. A friendly inch worm ended up joining us at the table and I gave him a little ride on my finger for a bit.

After which his life was violently snatched away when Mike crushed him beneath his hand. We didn't do much Saturday night. We eventually settled inside and watched about 5 episodes of Heroes before heading to bed.

Sunday however, was the day to remember. Mike and I needed more beer so we needed to go into town. Chris lent me his car, but came with. Ru joined us as well. After arriving at the liquor store and picking up what we needed, we headed over to the grocery store to pick up a few more things. Just before heading back to the cottage, Rubius wanted to pick up some goggles for the water. Canadian Tire being the jerks they are were closed at this time, but we found a Wal Mart. This is where the story picks up. More joking than anything else (I think), Chris made a comment about picking up some kick ass water toys then just returning them before we leave with Wal Mart's return policy. He ended up wandering off somewhere, but being the crazy ass I am, I noticed a toy. A big toy. A big inflatable toy. A kids inflatable bouncy castle toy. When Chris returned, I pointed out the castle, and his eyes lit up. We bought it. Ages 3 and up does not apply to us. We got back to the cottage with our new treasure in hand and began the construction. There were several rules to this bounce-n-slide that we heeded. Do not use extension cords. Do not go down slide other than feet first. Do not exceed 200lbs. Keep away from water. No wrestling inside the play center. Do not jump over sides. Do not return to store. Mearly suggestions to us. We first set up the castle on land to see how everything worked...with an extension cord. One Rule Broken. I got inside to test it, and Rubius joined me.

Me inside the castle with tape...just in case ;)

I'm about 150, and Ru is about the same. Together we were ~300lbs. Two Rules Broken. After realizing the only way we could get this to keep floating on the water is to keep the motor running, we conceived a way to extend the air tube about 15-20 feet.

After taping several tubes to the motor, we managed to keep the thing floating while keeping the motor safely away from the water. We finally pushed the castle out onto the water after adding a second extension cord to the mix. Three Rules Broken.

Me after retrieving a soccer ball I booted into the water

We tied the castle to the dock and the fun began. After retrieving a soccer all I hoofed into the lake and floated about 500ft away from the dock, I got my chance to climb into the castle. It was as awesome as it sounds.

Me climbing into the castle exhausted after my 20min swim for the ball.

At one point, Rubius, Chris and myself were inside the castle. Over 470lbs inside a structure that shouldn't exceed 200lbs is a cause for disaster. Well, after we were finished goofing around, the castle gave in and flipped over. Chris and Ru were ejected, but after re-stabilizing the flotation device, I remained inside. I hopped over the sides to go for another swim. Four Rules Broken. Suddenly, Rubius wanted to try and hop off the dock into the castle without touching the side. He failed miserably but it was still enjoyable to watch. I followed suit, and so did Chris. Then after someone mentioned clearing the whole castle, I wanted to complete the challenge. So I charged up and leaped over the castle, clearing both walls, smacking the slide and hitting the water. Mission complete.

    Success!

Chris followed suit after me, but Rubius did not. Mike was calmly on the boat next to the dock filming this whole ordeal with Chris' camera, and Cynthia was cheering everyone on and just having a good time. (Video to come shortly). Well, at some point the castle had had enough. With Chris, and myself wrestling in the castle Five Rules Broken, the castle was pressing up against the dock. Then disaster hit. The castle's walls were punctured, and air left the walls faster than Mike removed the life from the Inch Worm. The walls collapsed in on us, and Chris managed to escape. I however was trapped inside. After several minutes, I managed to escape and swim free. However, the dumb shit I am, climbed back into the castle after it refilled with air, despite an 8" hole in the side. The castle quickly deflated under my feet, and I fell back into the water. With the sun setting, we decided to reel the play center in and let it dry. We could just patch the hole anyway the next day and go at it again. We hauled the castle onto land and unhooked everything and went upstairs. After some Army of Two with Ru and I, we decided to have a camp fire and roast some hot dogs. After that was finished, we went inside to watch more Heroes before bed.

The next day we wanted to go back out onto the castle. However, we didn't want a repeat of Sunday with the Dock, so we needed to find a way to get the castle away from the dock but keep it onto the water. So after Chris patched the hole with Caulking (yes, caulking) and a patch that came with the set, we added an extension cord to the bunch, and pushed the castle back out onto the water. This time however, the castle was at least 20ft out.

To keep it somewhat in place, I grabbed the 10lbs boat anchor and tied it to a side of the castle.

Me diving out to prepare the castle for the anchor

    The castle is prepared!

Then Day 2 of the "Break every rule with a kids bouncy play center" began. Over the course of this day, we flipped the castle 3 times, had 3 gladiator matches (me beating Chris, then Rubius and I drawing twice due to the castle flipping), and managed to entice friends of ours across the lake to boat over and see just what the fuck we were doing. Day two wasn't as fun and exciting as Day 1, but it was still a worthy endeavour. After a couple hours, we un-anchored the castle and hauled it back into land. We set it out on the ground to let it dry so we could return it to the store. Six Rules Broken. The rest of Monday was spent relaxing until Mike and I busted out our Heineken keg. Being the only two people there that drank, we two-manned it while watching episode after episode of House. We managed to conquer it despite not quite finishing our last glasses before falling asleep.

Chris and Cynthia left early Tuesday morning to return the car they rented, so Ru, Mike and myself were alone until we wanted to leave. The three of us looked through all of the pictures Chris ended up taking, then Ru and I went to finish Army of Two while Mike did something else (mostly music). After Army of Two was completed, we packed up all our shit and managed to escape before the rain moved in for the first time. I unfortunately got caught in it taking down the Canadian Flag we hang on the front of the cottage when we are there, but other than that we beat it. The rest of the drive home was a bitch as the rain followed us all the way back to Toronto, some places coming down incredibly hard.

And thus ends the weekend adventures of Rubius and PDog. The video Mike took of the Day 1 castle adventures will be posted on Youtube after I finish editing it down and adding shit to it.

Rubius. If I missed anything here, feel free to add it.

I do eat. A lot. I'll eat a whole pack Bacon as a snack by myself. I've just been the same weight as in grade 8, and can't pack anything on. I've even begun working out again and packing on a little extra muscle but I just don't gain shit.

No idea really. They had wanted to kill it much earlier, but some of us wanted to check it out. I then just let it crawl up onto my finger for a bit and we played with him before Mike snuffed the life from it.

It's Goose Neck Lake. It's about 30 minutes NE of Parry Sound, Ontario.

That whore! That was my award!

Even though I don't know how awards work yet =P

Anyway, here are a couple more pictures of Rubius and myself.

Hehe, this reminded me of Wally World from National Lampoons Vacation.

Man, I haven't been on vacation yet this summer. Probably go to Lake Tahoe maybe.
