Yeah, that's for sure, but even a hamster blowing on the card would be better than the crap AMD has been using. They'd put the card in a sock it'd be the same than their cooler :(

I have no idea at all to why is AMD comitting (or commiting ?) suicide with their stock coolers design. Compared to the nvidia 770 & 780 ACX all metal stuff.

lol. It really just depends on what resolution you will be playing in and which company you prefer.

1440p for sure. I've seen the benchs, the 780 seems to do very good on 1440p too. I guess the 780 TI would be a better bet but it's way too expensive right now and it'll take a few months for it to drop.

Also i've read about the G-sync technology ? Since imma gonna replace the monitor too for 1440p i guess i should go with nvidia and buy a G-sync ?

I have been trying to find a picture of the ports of this card, considering i require 3x Display port (mini or not)

Trying to find out what the asus matrix/DCII and msi lighting have port wise.

Quite nice card, altho im more for a full cover waterblock, id quite happily had off the cooler to someone suffering thru a stock cooler.

I highly doubt we will see an IPS panel 1440p monitor with G-Sync. All the cool tech is stuck in the last decade for color and resolution quality.

I can pretty much guarantee you it will have two DVI, an HDMI (mirrored to one of the DVI ports so only 1 can be active at a time), and a DP. Maybe a mini-DP thrown on for some cards as well. The 3+ DP output cards never caught on and arent really produced anymore.
You can get either passive or active HDMI to DP adapters and make it work. Active adapters will be required for greater than 1080p resolutions.

I've heard Samsung is rolling out G-Sync IPS starting 2014 ? Might be the end of the year tho ?

Overlord was thinking about it : http://overlordforum.com/topic/603-nvidia-g-sync/ ?

I'm using a syncmaster BX2231 for a few years now and it seems it's a TN panel, i still find it dope. I guess i should be mind blown by IPS panels then ? I never took a look at it before.

Samsung uses PVA panels mostly since it is their own tech which competes directly with IPS from LG.
It would be really nice if Overlord monitors got one of their models with G-Sync in it. Scribby is really cool and the products he pushes are very nice. I remember throwing ideas back and forth with him on how to get those monitors made way back when we were all over at 120Hz.net and the supply was drying up on the old stock PCB's needed for the IPS 1440p 120Hz displays. I almost took one of Sribby's last PCBs myself to a relative who is a crazy smart electrical engineer to see if we could reverse engineer the part that he was stuck on at the time. Anyway, good company and good monitors. I definitely recommend them.

Oh thats true, I forgot about the Matrix cards. Those ones are so rare and limited edition that they may continue to do "strange" things like have 3 display port outputs.

Talk of the Matrix series makes me want to see what ASUS has in store for their 290X version :)

Sexey ! Asus is really good at cards design, even if i must say that i loved the Gigabyte's 780 GHZ look when i had it in hands.
