Guild Wars 2 ApplicationHow old are you? 52 In-Game Name? Steppenwolff or Steppenwolf + something Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a working microphone? Yes What kind of content do you prefer to play and why? Both What type of content do you want to play with XoO and how well do you think you will be able to work as a team to achieve it? I like all content. I used to focus more on pvp, but nowadays I tend to enjoy everything (though pvp is still my main preference). I was in XoO for a long time in GW1. I Did a lot of gvgs, including leading them. I have had plenty more experience in team play both pvp and pve since. I'm a good team player and enjoy working in a team. I've been raiding quite a lot in wow over the last several months and I've enjoyed that, but I'm really looking forward to getting into the pvp side of guild wars as I level up on the pve side of things. What top five games have influenced you the most? Diablo 1, guild wars (1), wow, warhammer online, too many others but no other one really stands out. I've played a lot of strategy games (Sid Meiers game #3524, etc.), some single player rpgs, but moslty I like mmos. What guilds have you played with? Oh boy. The half life of most guilds is not that long, so most I've forgotten. I was in a guild with friends in wow at first, so that tied me to a server (since I'm too cheap to pay the transfer fee!). I was in a world pvp guild in wow called Actus Reus for a long time (untill mid way thru TBC when I quit wow for a while and then the guild apparently broke up due to edrama). We did a lot of premade bgs too. I was in XoO most of my time in guild wars, and rejoined when I came back to it a long time later (I was in XoE as well as main). I played with Undead Lords (UDL) in warhammer, but wasn't keen on their roleplaying side, though they were a good pvp guild. I would love to be back in XoO. My experience with XoO in gw1 was honestly the best guild experience I've had in any game. What attracts you to this guild more than others? Ok, I guess I just answered that above. Always had a good experience in XoO. It's now been around a long time and accomplished a lot, so the leader/officer base is mature and experienced, both with gaming and in terms of organizing and handling personnel situations, etc., so its a great place to be. What about this guild suits your personality? I'm easy going, generally pretty quiet, I am happy to go along with what the majority want to do for the most part. The time I left XoO back in gw1 was exaclty that - there were a core group of XoE gvgers who wanted to split off and form a guild that focused solely on gvg (this was when factions shifted the focus of XoO toward more pve for a while), and I just went with them since they were the players I was currently playing with most of the time. I like to focus on pvp, but I like pve also and I enjoy doing a bit of everything. Grinding on one thing gets boring, though that is inevitable sometimes. So, to quit rambling, I'm easy going, I can follow orders in a team setting without arguing, I don't argue over loot/build/whatever, I just enjoy the whole experience and the team sport aspect. What will you contribute to the guild? Be a mature, skilled player who is a good ambassador and a good role model (sound horribly boring I know!) for younger players. I often like to help out, though sometimes I have to be the grumpy old fart and just go solo stuff or do whatever I'm doing. A good, successful guild makes a big difference to playing experience in a game, so doing what I can to make the guild successful is important to me. Do you play on North American servers or European servers? NA If so, enter the name of the person who referred you to XoO, otherwise leave this blank. - A little bit about yourself? I'm a professional in my early 50s, but not old either physically or mentally. I work out and swim 4 or 5 times a week and I'm in great shape. I am intellectually very active. In other words, I can keep up with the kids in games! I've been hooked on mmo type games for decades now and play probably too much, but I enjoy it way more than watching sports or anything like that. I read a lot, both fiction and nonfiction. I have a teenage daughter, so family life comes first and that can be time consuming, but when I'm not working there is nothing I'd rather be doing (if I'm not going to the pool or gym) than getting together with some XoO guildmates and pwning the opposition How much time will you play per week, on average? Hmm, I think I engage in cognitive dissonance about how much I really play, but 20-30 hours a week at least (probably a lot more many weeks). Do you have a high speed internet connection and a good computer? Can your computer and connection handle large battles in WvW? Yes Have you applied to the GW2 usergroup? Yes
