With the games launch just hours away, Xen of Onslaught has decided to get rolling by announcing recruitment for our Starcraft II division! We are a 8-year-strong gaming syndicate which has transitioned into SC II and are looking for friendly, dedicated members to help fill our ranks for the upcoming release. So if you are looking for an organized, helpful, powerful or creative group of people to play alongside then, please, come check us out! And now a bit about us... XoO in Starcraft II Though XoO's primary presence has been outside of the RTS community, it also has a significant degree of followers in that milieu. WC3, WC3: DOTA, Leage of Legends, and Starcraft: Broodwar are four games that members have always had a deep attachment to (not to mention the large number of Diablo fans). With the release of Starcraft 2 just around the corner and a significant member base active in the game's beta, we want to help XoO's RTS community explode. But we need help. XoO is equally active in both competitive ladder matches and custom games. We like to have in-house tourneys and we like to play Mario-Kart-style UMS games. Terran, Protoss, Zerg - all are welcome. Some of us are very competitive, and others prefer to play casually. As a guild, we pretty much run the gamut, and as long as you're committed there is a place for your play-style in XoO. Also, for those concerned about the effects Battle.net 2.0 may have on guild organization, here's some peace of mind: XoO is a guild whose success in a game comes largely from our presence outside a game, specifically through each player creating and maintaining a solid presence on the forums and on Teamspeak 3. And yes- both are essential to being a part of the guild. Players who let their presence dwindle or don't want to contribute tend to fade fast (obv. there are exceptions; this is not a full time job β if your house is on fire or your water breaks you do not have to finish a game). Thanks to this level of communication, whatever happens on Battle.net XoO will work around quite smoothly. Requirements Age: 18+ Regular Activity: Approx 10+ hours Game-time per week minimum Teamspeak 3: http://www.teamspeak.com/ Contacts: FliggenMan, The Communist, TheCox Website: http://www.xoohq.com β Check out our forums. Introduce yourself. The water's just fine here. The βXenβ behind the Onslaught: Guild History and Philosophy "One plus one equals...ONE!!!" - Archon XoO is a multi-tiered gaming syndicate that was established in late 2002 prior to the release of SOE's Planetside, an MMOFPS designed for what, at the time, was considered rather rare in the online gaming arena: world-scale FPS gameplay. The guild began as a relatively small but dedicated group of gamers that connected with one another through their anticipation for what was rumored to be an unrivaled game in terms of its proportions. As a consequence, some of the guild's foundational blocks were formed from a pivotal piece of understanding: in a digital arena of any real magnitude, potential for victory had to be gained through a real edge. Various levels of strategy, military-style communication protocols, routine training, a balanced approach to the apportioning of the outfit, and a fairly rigid approach to in-game conduct were just some of the seminal elements of XoO's signature strategic "edge" - each of which now assists in defining the facets of it's contemporary gaming umbrella. Despite this pooling of technique and tactics, however, there was a more significant and less tactile component to XoO's emergence as to what the Planetside community, to this day, will undoubtedly confirm as one of the few superpower forces in the game. In fact, not only is it the primary cause behind the old outfit's dedication, it is the linchpin of the entire syndicate; from its communication infrastructure, to its guild funding, to its in and out of game behavior, to its disciplinary procedures, to the recruitment process, to the promotional process, to it's sense of trust, to each swing of a weapon or shot fired or claw extended or herb picked or bandage applied or device crafted or jump made in any of it's various games. Its togetherness. Xen of Onslaught is and always has been a community above all else. Games are supposed to be fun, and are often more fun when you play them with other people. It's not rocket surgery. And though after eight years of playing as a whole this idea may have sunk to subconscious level for some of its members, no action, no matter how small, is ever made without taking this into account. United we stand, divided we fall - this is, as it were, our motto. Everyone has something to contribute, everybody a niche, and whether it be running for a leadership role, a creative skillset, a monetary donation, or just a favor for a guildmate, every little bit sees appreciation. And every member is expected to give it, when they can, in return. As it has grown and changed, XoO has seen the likes of many a game. Starting in Planetside, XoO afterward expanded to SOE's Star Wars Galaxies. Later it took on other smaller FPS games like America's Army and variations of Unreal Tournament. Much later this grew to incorporate larger games like Battefield 1942, BF 2142, Call of Duty 4, BF Bad Company 2, and others. It's presence in the MMORPG world has been significant, with organizations in games such as Lineage 2, Age of Conan, Guild Wars, Rising Force Online, Eve, Aion, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Hellgate London, Warhammer Online, and various others, many of which retain an active member-base today. Our Guild Wars division participated in the Guild Wars 2006 world championship tournament and was one of 8 U.S. based guilds to participate. Various divisions and even the syndicate as a whole have been interviewed and praised by a number of websites including MMOSite.com, FragWorld.org, SCAudios.com, guildwars.com, Mythic Entertainment, and others. We have had members from all over the U.S. and many European countries as well. And across its numerous divisions XoO has made countless game firsts. Today Xen of Onslaught has approximately 10 divisions at the supported level (meaning they have reached a level of size, leadership, and organization that the guild formally acknowledges them as active) and we're hovering somewhere around 800 total active members across our divisions. Still, while a feeling a little bit spread out is inevitable in any group that grows this much, we are still like peas in an oversized pod. So there you have it. If you're interested in joining please, again, visit our site and/or contact one of our listed members. JOIN US! AND FEAR THE ONSLAUGHT!!!
