This is kind of petty and cosmetic but ultimately my issue lies in performance.

Basically my problem is that my WEI (Windows Experience Index) is rating my hard drive a 5.9, and its driving me insane. The drive is a 240gb OCZ Agility 3. I went ahead and ran AS SSD and it gave me an overall score of like 417 or something like that. Now, my to understanding this isnt horrible but I know the rates werent even close to what the reviews and anandtech bench shows for my harddrive.

I googled around a bit a saw a few articles on tweaking your system for SSD optimization but none of the tweaks were able to gain me a doubling of performance. I double checked my intel software and it does show the link speed as 6gbs.

When i get home from work ill post my AS SSD bench results and run an iometer test and post that too.

In all honestly im happy with my SSD but if there is more to be had then i want it.

What motherboard do you have? Your other thread you list an AMD board but in this thread you are talking about an Intel board?
You also need to have it plugged in to the Intel sata ports and not the 3rd party chipset sata ports. The Intel ones are way faster
And you need to be in AHCI mode

And lastly you could just have a sucky drive. The difference between the vertex and Agility series is that the Vertex uses only specific grade name brand flash chips. The Agility uses the cheapest grade OCZ can get at the time of manufacture. These cheaper chips make the performance of one batch not match the performance of another batch and also will affect the lifetime between batches.

I have the asus maximus gene 5 with the 3770k, i think the thread you found was my server, an fx 8120 build. How do i ensure i am in AHCI mode? I have been trying to find that but i havent come across it in the bios. i know its a 6gb port but i dont know if i have intel specific 6gb port.

I figured thats a possibility with it being an agility but i didnt think it would be this bad. I need to compare numbers again and make sure. i could just be chasing ghosts and WEI is dumb.

In your asus bios, go to Advanced ->Sata configuration -> 1st setting there should be to change to AHCI mode.
To see which ports are intel, you need to open your manual.
Make sure its a 6gb sata intel port
    Intel® Z77 chipset : *4
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red <- ones you need your ssd to be pluged into
    2 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black
    1 x eSATA 3Gb/s port(s), red
    1 x mini-SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black
    Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10
Supports Intel® Smart Response Technology, Intel® Rapid Start Technology, Intel® Smart Connect Technology *5
    ASMedia® PCIe SATA controller : *6
    2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red

I am pretty sure that is really low for sequential write speeds on that drive.
You have to remember that AS-SSD uses incompressible data to test, which is where Sandforce drives become very slow. Sandforce is all about internal compression to give you better speeds, but if the data you are using cant be compressed then speed drops rapidly. Still, sequential writes look low to me. Might be how you have it formatted.

Yeah, looks like you're 100mb/s short on your write speed.
Try connecting it to different sata port.

Uninstall intel rapid storage driver iaStor, you'll get your speed.
