http://www.bungie.net Looks like Bungie may be pulling a blizzard.com. As of today, Bungie.net has a splash screen with a warning sequence and displays a number of Warning messages. Also, I noticed that there is a countdown near the bottom-right of the screen. As of this post, the countdown is 1:17:31:00. So in just over a day and a half something may be going down at B.Net. New Halo announcement? Halo: Chronicles? Just as with DIII, I'll be looking into this.
OMG OMG OMG OMG WORLD OF HALO edit: also, screw these activity bars, I'll talk only when I can contribute something relevant.
I'd just like to add...someone counted down the timer, and it ends on Wednesday at 07:07:07am PST. They have something planned when they announce it at a time with all 7's. Bungie and their 7's.
PDog did you even read the warnings it says to "Please Remain Calm" so calm down and stop making something out of nothing. Oh and wouldn't that just be a countdown to when they have the stage at E3 and would be presenting something we have already speculated about in another thread?
Bungie is not at E3. Microsoft is, but Bungie themselves are not. However, some speculations are all ready rolling in. People are saying the Halo Movie will be announced since Movie Web says Halo will be announced in 2008. Another key hint is that this countdown ends Wednesday Morning. Nintendo's press conference is tomorrow, which means Sony's is Wednesday. Could Bungie be announcing something for the PS3 (I pray to god not). Plus, even if Bungie was at E3, Microsoft has already had their conference. If they were going to announce something there, they would have done it already.
Well I can wait a day and a half to find out Im tired of the speculation it just leads to disappointments a lot of the time and I have to think to hard and Im tired
Just like the catastrophic failure of the potential announcement and speculation that Diablo 3 was going to be revealed at the World Wide Invitational? Wait...That not only turned out to be true, but is also the largest thread on the forums too with news and announcements galore in it.
The one for Portal was the best kind of ad. IMO. But they all make you wonder. Im sure Pdog will know 4 days in advance what it is.
Well, the countdown on the splash ends in a day, so I would have had to know 3 days ago. Which I will know on Wednesday if I was in fact right, since I have a deep gut feeling I know what the announcement will be.
Fine, I'll tell you what I'm personally speculating. There is another Halo game in production with Bungie and a new development studio called Wingnut Interactive. I'm sure I've mentioned it's name before. Right now it's only called Halo: Chronicles, but that name could change at anytime. Nothing has been released about this game other than it is being planned as an episodic game series (See: Half-Life 2). Prequel, Sequel, During the events of Halo 1,2,3? No one knows shit about this game other than that it's in development. Shit, someone asked on XPlay tonight about the "Halo 4 Rumour" at E3, and they only mentioned Halo Wars, and nothing of "The other Halo game in production by Peter Jackson's company", so even XPlay missed it. If it's going to be anything, it'll be Chronicles (Or whatever they decide to call it now). We'll see Wednesday.
Isn't this now the same as the Halo 4 Announcement at E3 thread except that it has a specific time and we know they are going to E3? Anyway it will be nice to hear more or anything about Chronicles. From what I've heard, mostly from PDog I think, is that it doesn't have Master Chief and it an alternate storyline and they will have new ones every so often to extend the story.
Thats what I know. From what I have gathered (which is limited), John is not supposed to be in Chronicles. But of course that could change when more is released. And I would like to reiterate...Bungie is not at E3 2008.
I think its gonna be the Halo movie that i recently saw a caption on youtube? or it could be the announcement of halo wars, who knows... i think that would be like...wow, another halo...cool, but lame at the same time since the last one ended, and should stay ended. This might be like a starwars kind of thing, which in my opinion the last 3 were better then the first 3.
God fucking dammit...another turn of events tonight. Bungie Working On a Halo Game, Says Microsoft I know. Shocking, isn't it? Speaking with MTV, Microsoft's Don Mattrick has revealed, perhaps accidentally, that Bungie are working on a Halo game for Microsoft. And it's not the Peter Jackson one. It's something else. Rather than insert the same tired, old theories about a Halo game sans Master Chief, or a Forerunner game, or any other well-worn rumour, I'm just going to point out that Bungie are a big developer, and that before you all go wondering what this means with regards to today's "other" Bungie news, it may be worth bearing in mind they're more than capable of working on more than one game at a time. Kotaku Seriously...WTF Bungie. Either MGS and Bungie don't want us to know something, or Chronicles is bigger than we thought, or there is another Halo title in production. Seriously...WTF.
