So some chick moved into the condo down stairs and like 3 times in the past couple weeks she has gotten into a huge fight with her boyfriend/husband/pimp late at night. She cries/sobs so loud, not to mention screams at him, right outside my window that it drives me insane. I have never heard or seen the guy though, so I don't know if shes just freaking out over the phone or what. Can't people stay inside when they are freaking out? We don't want to listen to your sorry ass!

If this didn't sound quite so much like an abusive situation, I might have more empathy for you. I certainly don't have any sympathy, but you're not special in that regard, as I find it very difficult to sympathize with the majority of people I interact with; I'm pretty detached from my emotions. (please note: there is a big difference between empathy and sympathy, I'm not just being a word nerd)

As it is, if it were me writing a post about the same situation on the forums, it would be more like, "I'm really anti-social and avoidant, but this girl sounds like she might need help. Should I go try to talk to her?" etc.
