Anyone else going crazy with anticipation of the release of Shogun 2: Total War? Its right around the corner, coming out on Tuesday, March 15th (next week). I have had it pre-ordered since it came up for pre-order on Amazon.com, being a veteran total war player (since the first Medieval: Total War) I cant wait for the release of Shogun 2. For those new to the series, check out these cool trailers: Campaign Walkthrough: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/campaign-walkthrough-total-war/709287 Multiplayer Warfare: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/multiplayer-walkthrough-total-war/709945 Naval Warfare: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/naval-and-total-war/709943 Land Battles: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/land-battles-total-war/709941
have you played the demo? steam has a deal going right now Purchase SHOGUN 2 before release and receive the following items for use in Team Fortress 2: or Pre-Purchase Total Warâ„¢ Collection Pack for 50% off @$64.99 Includes 5 items: Medieval II: Total Warâ„¢, Rome: Total Warâ„¢ - Gold, Empire: Total Warâ„¢, Total War: SHOGUN 2, Napoleon: Total Warâ„¢ Imperial Edition
not sure, I think I saw a multi-player option though.. co-op doesnt sound likely however.. could be wrong of course
I played the demo for a bit but I dont like how they hold your hand and tell you what you have to attack and when, they also dont let you build what you want in the demo either in the beginning. The version that their selling on steam is the regular edition, there are 4-5 versions available for sale: The Regular Edition (Basic Barebones edition), the Limited Edition (Normal Edition), and the Collectors Edition (with bamboo art book and a toy samurai) and the Grand Master Edition (Sold Out, it was only sold in Australia and it included a Bamboo Samurai Chess set, Wooden Art Book, Toy Samurai, and some other stuff). I myself just purchased the Limited Edition as I dont really want to pay extra for the physical toys (chess set, art book, and toy samurai). I also dont know if the other versions will work in the USA since their European copies of the game. They havent said anything yet about a LAN option but they did say that you can play co-op with friends online on their servers.
The CE is only available in Europe, and most retail stores overseas (eg. UK) won't ship to the US. The only edition available in stores is the LE, which doesn't include anything badass. The Steam preorder is interesting, but really TF2 is totally retarded (now?). The demo is a tutorial and serves its purpose. The campaign map feels slightly different from earlier TW games, but everything on the battle map should feel the same. There should be a co-op mode for both the campaign and individual battles.
