So, decided I wanted to see if any other XoO members could use some of my current desktop parts - been gettin' the itch to build another box again and would like to give my current one a good home.

Here's the parts I'm selling (or.. again the whole box):

I'm still using an 8800gt 512mb card (and yes, it still runs everything I play on good/med settings at 60fps) so I figured no one would want that.

Dash, send me a PM - and you know, since we kinda live down the street from one another, we wouldn't have to worry about shipping.

why dont u upgrade to a one of the GeForce GTX 400 Series card? or you use ATI cards? bc since the 500 ones came out the 400 kinda dropped a lil in price and TigerDirect.com has some nice ones at a good price and sometime there great sells and if you use google checkout sometimes there also a discount.

If its not broken and runs 60 fps at a setting I can still enjoy it at then I'm sticking with that.

@Van Yeah last year. I like to build though ; )

You're talking to me like I don't build my own computers or keep up with computer hardware.

I slightly appreciate the input though.

I dont get why you are selling most of the stuff. Case and mobo I can see, but your CPU is plenty and so is the RAM. You are not going to see much of a difference so why waste the money?
If you are not willing to upgrade your gpu I dont get why upgrading your other hardware is important considering they still perform plenty for any game out considering few games even take advantage of a quad core let alone one with four extra threads.

For some of us, the desire to upgrade a computer isnt because it is slow and old. Some of us (like me) just enjoy having the latest and greatest. Or tweaking computers as much as possible, and when all is learned then move on to the next. Or to just try out new hardware. It is our hobby, not done because of necessity.

Trust me you are talking to someone that typically doesnt keep a piece of hardware for more than a few months. I have built/overclocked for a very long time even before it was a simple log into the BIOS and change some things and built computers just as long. So trust me I KNOW how that goes.

But for someone that is like that then he would get a new GPU, considering how much faster gpus are growing in power compared to say RAM or CPUs. So again I do not get why he is wasting the money on new stuff when his GPU lacks a lot compared to the current gen of gpus, but it isn't my money. Just was wondering.

Also considering he gets either a top AMD or Intel processor his GPU will start bottlenecking that processor if he overclocks which it looks like he does. If has good enough cooling his processor will easily reach 4GHz.

Its not even about that. I don't want the "latest and greatest" or I'd obviously have me a pair of 590's in quad sli.

Like I said earlier, I like to build boxes, but also - generally - I don't have like having "too much of stuff", so when I want to get something new (in general) or just make room for something, I like to get rid of things, or sell off inventory. I'm kind of a minimalist.

Plus - I was just posting this to maybe help a fellow XoO member out if they were looking to upgrade, or grab another PC - then I'd be selling with a discount to someone in the community.

I'm really confused why I'm getting bashed for this.
