Computer is officially sold Well if anyone wants to buy my old computer, I am selling it for $650 plus shipping. As you can tell by all my other threads in the tech section, it is a little outdated now (hence the low price). It will still play anything I have tried on high, so it should last you a while. The oldest part in it is the processor, and that is still a 3.2GHz quad core... The computer hasnt crashed on me in a LONG LONG time, and even then was only due to my last graphics card burning up (Apparently, it is bad to overvolt and hardcore overclock your graphics card for 9 months straight 24/7 with voltage regulators already close to their limit at stock speeds). Here are the specs: Phenom 940 processor - quad core, 3.0GHz (overclocked to 3.4GHz completely stable) Big and quiet heatsink, to keep the CPU nice and cool GTX470 graphics card, one of the newest cards. Only a couple of months old. RevoDrive SSD - 120GB, one of the fastest solid state drives. Only a couple months old. 500GB storage drive A great quality power supply thats only 6 months old. 8GB of RAM - DDR2-800 speed, 4-4-4-12 timings. Equal in performance to the newer DDR3-1600 RAM with 8-8-8-24 timings (expensive stuff) HT-Omega Striker 7.1 sound card, a nice sounding sound card Cosmos 1000 tower, A beautiful beast of a tower. I can take pictures of it if you want. Its a bit dusty but I will be cleaning the dust off soon. Payment will be done via PayPal unless you are local and then you can give me cash if you want. I live in Southern California. Anyone nearby me can also come over to see it in action if they want to. Im selling it for only $650 plus shipping costs. Shipping shouldnt be that expensive, maybe another $50 to go all the way across the US. Its kinda sad to think I just got that SSD in October and it still sells for $310 by itself. Thats almost half the computer cost right there...
When I posted I wasn't really awake but I see it now lol. As for the price, I may be able to do that. Granted I will have to wait untill I get my taxes back and if I get a job shortly. Keep me in mind but don't reserve it. I'll get in touch with you about it in a short bit after I get some more info.
It will be able to run Tera completely maxed out. I want to sell the computer as soon as possible, whenever that happens to be. But if it takes a couple months and no one has bought it yet I will probably just keep it and take out the SSD, graphics card, PSU, and sound card to use in my new computer. Hopefully someone will buy it long before then though.
I'll vouch for that statement. CBT4 I did Tera will a very similar system but a crappy 5770. At 1080p streaming/recording I was getting a 45fps average on max, and a 470 runs over a 5770 so be no problem playing on max. My 6970 I have now does eyefinity of it maxed out no problem. Enigma's setup is a steal at that price really for what you can get out of it in performance.
Hey enigma ... I know terand really needs a computer pretty bad (his shit sucks) If you can hold off til tax season and let him buy that would be awesome ... if not maybe we can work some magic and send him some old parts in the future
I will try to hold off for Terand if possible, Id prefer to help people in the guild out as having guild mates with better computers means the guild as a whole can do better But I also have a friend in real life who is interested, although he has no idea if he can come up with the money or not.
Well I may not even be able to get it with my tax return. I also am still looking for a job. If I don't have a job soon then all my taxes are going towards bills and savings for bills later this year. That is why I said i'll get back to Enig shortly. If someone is will to buy it now then don't reserve it for me. Although I do appreciate the help everyone
I can't believe you're getting rid of your Revo already... I will only still like you if you bought an X2.
Ya I really do love the drive and I know I just got it, but I will get a new one eventually with the new computer. I am really thinking about getting a 160GB Z-Drive R3 when I have the money.
I am still waiting on a download to finish before I can weigh the tower, my guess would be about 50 lbs though. Kinda a lot, most of it is case weight. The Cosmos 1000 tower is a beastly tower that is the most well built tower I have ever had. Made to last. The case alone weighs 37.2 lbs though. For a 50lbs object through UPS costs about $55 to ship to Chicago.
Well that was true, but now the parts are at "end of life" for everything but hard drive and graphics. That doesnt mean it is bad parts, just that new parts are coming out and any new processors will not fit in this socket on the motherboard. This has the best CPU it is capable of right now, as well as RAM. So you cant really do any upgrades except for a new graphics card if you ever need it. However, it is still a 3.4GHz quad core with 8GB of low latency RAM and a pretty new graphics card and one of the fastest SSDs you can get. So as you said, it will still be able to perform for quite some time. It is just no more upgrades. Coming from a Pentium 4, I would say that the performance difference you will see is an increase of 500-600% compared to what you have now
