Aion (NA) ApplicationHow old are you? 21 In-Game Name? Saito Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a mic? No What is your primary class? Ranger What do you like about your job class? I've always loved archery, and I actually am an archer in real life. I started Aion with two friends from another game when the game launched with the head start, and made a templar to play with them, and a ranger to solo on. I always make archers in every game I play from MMOs to games like The Elder Scrolls series. Also, I love the ability to deal a large amount of damage in a short amount of time and not being land locked like I am on my sorcerer. What is your level (Suggested Level of 50+) 55 Do you have any 45+ alts? Would you be willing to join them to legion? I have plenty of other characters above 45 and would be willing to add them to the legion if requested. I will be playing my ranger for the majority of my time though as the account now is free and he finally has a good weapon. Characters above 45: 55 Templar Achyls 55 Sorcerer Saha 55 Chanter Seburo 55 Ranger Saito 50 Templar Sveta 50 Gladiator Masura (Twink) I think that's all of my 45+'s. I have two 40 twinks as well though, a cleric and gladiator. Would you consider yourself more of a PvP or PvE oriented player and why? Due to the fact that I know I am limited by gear, at this point, I am more of a PvE character. I am very interested in PvP, but I know without the proper accessories and whatnot, it isn't that much of an option right now. However, once I can get that PvP gear, I will very much be more PvP oriented, but I will always love PvE. The reason I like PvE is because it usually involves a group of people in like an instance working together to achieve a common goal. It's also nice to see someone get something they wanted, or to be the one to get something. I enjoy PvP because of how competitive and ever-changing it is. PvE can be considered boring from a purely mechanical point of view (do this at this %, then do this in another 30 second, etc, rinse and repeat), but PvP is always changing and adapting. Heck, just looking at manastone builds since launch, it's gone from whatever someone can get their hands on, to HP/survivability, to nuke them dead, and will change again. What Legion(s) were you previously with and why did you leave? I haven't really found a legion I liked mostly due to the inactivity or the fact that they didn't branch out from their set static groups. It's been a while since I've thought about the names, but Opulence and LeftBehind are two notable ones I was in. I left Opulence because they had their set statics and I was always left as the second or third substitute for groups, which didn't really leave me with much to do. LeftBehind left a bad taste in my mouth. I was in the legion for two months on my sorcerer, and literally the only thing anyone said to me other than the friend that got me to join during those two months was "Hi Saha" in a QE dredgion that Sweeety got tossed in with me. Needless to say, they never grouped me for anything either. Why did you choose XoO: I've always seen cooperation within XoO and it is a legion that is actually active and does things with their members. That is what I have looked for in a legion, and have thus far been unable to find. I've tried the large legion with people to randomly do things with, and I've tried the small legion who always ran together situations, but neither have worked out. I think in both of those situations, leadership and organization was always lacking and things fell victim to drama and bickering. Also, I have been legionless on my characters for a while because I have not been wanting to deal with drama and whatnot, but since the free to play launch released my second account that was originally Vaizel Elyos, I have gotten back into my ranger and wanted to look for a group of people to play and socialize with. I asked around with my friends and when I mentioned the possibility of XoO, they all said the members were nice as well (Asho especially mentioned that). Previous Gaming Experience: I've played Aion since it launched and started with the two day head start. I have also played other MMOs that people probably haven't heard of, including RF Online, Neo Steam, and R.O.S.E. Online. I've been playing MMOs for probably around 8 years now I think. I've always been a gamer though, and have played console/PC games long before starting MMOs. I'm especially fond of the Final Fantasy series and good FPS games. Also, The Elder Scrolls games are amazing as well (*Is jealous of my roommate who has Skyrim, as I do not*). Why do you think you'll be a good fit? Well, I'm a rather active player, and I enjoy a good community. Honestly, the community has kept me playing games long after I have lost interest in the actual game itself. I also love to do things with other people. To be honest, thanks to my luck with legions and being rather shy, I have ended up soloing most of the things I do in Aion, and really would like to change that. What will you contribute to the guild? I tend to be a very methodical person, and like to make suggestions for lots of things. Like if someone comes up with a legion event, I like to get involved and see if I can improve it and make it go smoother. Heck, in one of my previous MMOs, I fixed a flawed aspect of a PvP tournament the GMs put on for an event, and they used my version of it after that. I also just like talking with people (although it is usually typing as I do not have a microphone). Even if there's nothing really going on, I like to have conversations, probably because I get bored easily, and conversations are always fun. Oh, a little note. I do not have a microphone, and don't really intend on buying one due to the fact that even if I had one, I would most likely never use it. I have had friends pester me for years to get one, but due to my personality, I would rather type instead of talk. However, this does not mean I will not log on Teamspeak and listen. I have done that for years with my friends, and I just respond with text. Localization: NA Do you have a referral? Jaga A little bit about yourself? Well, I am currently a college student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but debating on switching to Electrical Engineering. As I mentioned before, I am also an archer in real life (and still bummed that my college has no archery club when they have a marksmanship club, silly guns). I also do origami in my spare time thanks to my 4th grade teacher introducing it to me and my slight OCD making me good at it (it must line up perfectly!). I also try to keep liking someone and respecting someone separate. Generally, I respect someone until I am given a reason not to, but I still feel that I can dislike someone and respect them at the same time. Do you have a sense of humor? But of course. Most anyone I'm friendly with knows me to have a rather quirky sense of humor. I always enjoy poking fun at things and situations, but in ways that are not hurtful to anyone, and if someone is offended, I make sure to apologize. I guess it's kind of hard to explain my sense of humor to someone I probably have not met, since I'm not sure who will be reviewing this application. Activity level? 30+ Do you have a high speed internet connection and a good computer? Yes Have you applied to the Aion (NA) usergroup? Yes
Do you participate in any bow hunting or competition? I hit up the range from time to time, been bow hunting a few times.
Well, I haven't done any competitions. I'm a casual archer. My uncle is the one who got me interested in archery many years ago, and he does bow hunting. I've never had much interest in hunting, so most of my archery is target shooting either in their back yard (which is like a little valley), or at ranges.
Hello! Thanks for applying to XoO! First and foremost, THANK YOU for such a wonderful application! We understand that you do not have a mic for personal reasons, so will be setting up an interview for you. There's no time tonight to have it done, unfortunately - but we'll see about having it done tomorrow evening if that is okay with you! Please check your PM's.
this is the most thought out and well written application i have ever seen. it was a joy to read good luck with your interview
I'm glad it didn't turn out to have the "wall of text" feeling. I was talking with Jaga about it in game because I wanted to ask about the microphone issue before applying if it was going to be a deal breaker and he said extensive applications were good, so I typed what I wanted.
Ah, double post already, but I guess I tried responding to your post before I had posting privileges. I'm a casual archer, so I don't do any competitions. My uncle was the one who got me interested in it a long time ago, and he does bow hunting, but I've never really had much interest in it. I usually practice either in my uncle's back yard (which is pretty much a valley that they have targets set up in) or in archery ranges.
This application is AWESOME! I went into this kind of detail on my own application too. I hope we get to be good friends!
