What do a famous baseball player, the creator of Spawn(todd McFarlane), a New York Times bestselling author and the lead designer of Morrowind have in common? 38 Studios.

Curt Schilling, Todd McFarlane, Ken Rolston and R.A. Salvatore are all on board for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a fantasy role-playing game. They've released the first trailer and screenshots for the game which sees players going on a journey to unlock the mysteries of Amalur, a magical world filled with magical stuff. How magical.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. What are your first impressions of 38 Studios' new game?

Curt has been a big time RPGer for a long time, and sunk some serious cash into this project I really hope it turns out well for him.

Edit: And spawn never should've been taken off HBO, it was very good!

That trailer doesn't make the game look good at all. Just a terrible rip off of Dragon Age. The proportions on the guy and his weapons don't fit the rest of the environment and kinda just ruins the whole thing.

It looks like EA just hired a bunch of awesome people to make a quick game so they can milk us. Awesome people yes but the amount of time this game is being made in seems like its being rushed by the higher ups so they have to compromise. It's just what EA does.

So my vote is that its going to be the same mediocre shit that companies have been pumping out. 30 hour main storyline, reused combat systems, and the same boring fantasy environment.
